I beat WB to it.
But, you know, WB just isn't as proud of his injured Eagles as he usually is.
Waiting for the other shoe to drop?
I think our defense shows up this week. Garcia had one good game...but he's looked like a bum for the last two years.
And let's see if Philly can stop our ground game...

If campbell thinks the Atlanta blitzes were tough, he's in for a long day. Philly will blitz him into submission. They still have plenty of weapons on offense and Garcia is servicable.

Yeah man, I was just kidding. I thought that an extremely sarcastic post would fit an extremely sarcastic thread.
I'm not sure how much pass rush the Redskins can get on the Eagles, but Betts should be able to get some yards on the Eagles. IMO, game depends on how:
1. Campbell responds to Eagles pass rush
2. Redskins attempt to pressure Garcia
3. Who wants it more
With that said, based on #3, I'm going Eagles, 17-14.
Oliphant
December-8th-2006, 05:46 PM
I think the Eagles win but the blowout predictions don't matchup. Let's face it, in the last game you take away three plays (that's PLAYS not even drives) and we're looking at tight, low-scoring, traditional NFC East game. One of those plays was a fortuitous bounce on a fumble and the other was noodle-armed Mark Brunell inexplicably being asked to throw a deep out in the driving rain and wind. I'm going to say 17-13 Philly.

Yes the Skins have had a very disappointing season. The guy believes in his team and supports them whether 1-15, 15-1 or 4-8. Does this mean you only support Dallas when winning?
I don't think it is far fetched for Garcia to have a bad day or that the Skins have a big day with their ground game. The defense seems to always be banged up but seem healthier and due for a big game.

Gaither is the rookie LB who is making his second start. He played pretty well on MNF in his first start. His plays seemed to give the team an emotional boost as well as a much surer tackler than McCoy. He is bigger and plays more physical at the point of attack.
I do think that it will be close for the first half of the game, but I feel that the Eagles defense will make a big play to turn the tide and allow the flood gates to open.
Outside of Gaither, Brown and of course Westbrook, I look forward to seeing Sheppard on Moss. Both are Pro Bowl type players and I can't wait to see them matched up.

The Eagles barely beat the Panthers at home. We barely beat the Panthers at home. Yet the Eagles are a going to destroy the Redskins this week? Riiiiiight. As many have other said here, it'll be a close game. I just don't see Garcia lighting the secondary up.

I for some reason believe that the Redskins should win every single game if they come out an perform no matter what the circumstances have been throughout recent season including this one. That being said imagine the heartache i have had to endure the last 12 years (Even worse the last 8years or so when i became old enough to actually be able to follow football with a wider scope as opposed to win i was ages 11-14.)

The way the Skins have played all year I don't think they'll be able to pull it out.
They'll give up 2-3 big plays.
Campbell will get sacked when Moss, Lloyd, ARE or Cooley are WIDE OPEN.

Cowboys fans should be rooting for the Redskins this week. I know its tough, but its better for the Cowboys. With 4 games to go, we're only ahead of the Eagles by 2 games, and they beat us (nice throw, Drew) the first game. So if the Eagles don't lose any more games, they're actually still a threat to win the East.
Go Redskins. Ugh. I think I pulled something just typing that.

WOW, what a response to getting beat at home.....priceless!!!
How can you kick someones butt up and down the field and lose? To be honest, The Eagles just got it done against the skins. They played smart and they mixed up some coverages to get some INT's from the young QB. On off. they just played smart, and asked Gaecia to manage the game and he did. Good win for Philly really...i mean yes they gave up some yards on the ground, but hey they came up huge when they needed to (when it was goal to go from the 3)

I indicated that the Eagles won today. That was it. The Eagles are not good enough or deserve to make the playoffs. Now, on a side note, the skins don't deserve to make it either. Since you seem to think so highly of the Eagles I simply asked the question regarding them beating your team.

I mean seriously...
i am no eagle fan so i will not answer for them on that, but to add to what your saying: Are you proud of the skins outing today?

You indicated that the Eagles won this game. You indicated that the Eagles outplayed the skins and were the better team today. You indicated the Eagles made the right decisions to win the game.
I indicated that the Eagles won today. That was it. The Eagles are not good enough or deserve to make the playoffs. Now, on a side note, the skins don't deserve to make it either. Since you seem to think so highly of the Eagles I simply asked the question regarding them beating your team.
Don't come here talking anything related to smack after a skins loss when the game was between another division rival especially if you are a puke fan.
I can chime in, it is a division game and eagle fans and skin fans and giants fans all have an opinion.
I am high on the Eagles, they are 7-6 and in the hunt for a wild card game, then its all 0-0 from there. You have to give them credit for holding it together without mcnabb!!!!

sure...it is a stretch, cause it is the Skins on the losing side...hey a loss is a loss.
What on earth gives you any clue that this team (the skins) can beat the Cowboys? Talk about a stretch...Seriously, give me a football answer to why or how the Skins could beat Dallas? And you wanna be taken seriously...oh wait, no you really dont. But seriously answer the question.....and please use football related answers.
Uhhhhhh......
Maybe the fact that we beat you a few weeks ago? Or that we've owned you 3 times out of 4? And before you play the Romo card, please remember that he was your starter the last time we beat you.

and you forget that we did whip the Skins in Dallas. ....but all that being said, since the last time you played Dallas, we have gotten better each week, while the skins just get worse....minus the Panther win....You reall think that last seasons games have anything to do with this years? why even bring that up? Dallas is playing great ball right now and the Skins arent. It is the reverse of last year.

yep, and that means nothing...as i pointed out in the post above, Dallas is in a groove while the Skins are in the tank!
Funny thing is, i was at that game (22-19) and i cant tell you how many Skin fans pointed out that, "this win right here is a season changing win" well as a matter of fact it was, Dallas is on a roll (3-1 going into tonights game) while the skins are 1-4. I ll take that!

Good game skins....
But if you are going to play the "ref" game.....
1 - How about the NO CALL on ARE's TD? You know, the one where he clearly pushed off on Sheldon Brown qhile the ball was in the air?
2 - What about the "facemask" that went for 15 instead of 5 against Thomas on Campbell? Thomas only glanced his facemask, it was no where near the 15 yarder that Ray Lewis got earlier...
But hey, a win is a win and a loss is a loss.....can't blame anyone but themselves.....right?

I watched every play and the ref's had absolutly nothing to do with the games outcome. The win came on Washington's inability to get 7 when having the ball at the 3 and i give all the credit in the world to The Eagles and their DC for that. A hard faught game with all the stats going to Washington, yet the team won that DESERVED to Win. Congrats to Philly, who expected them to be in this position after losing Mcnabb...Not me, but you gotta give credit where credit is due.....and by the way , the Giant team that is unbeatable showed up today, setting up a whale of a game next week.

You're grasping on pass interference. Williams was grabbing ARE's arms the whole way down. Either way, it was a good no call.
You are not allowed to hit the QB in his face. PERIOD. Read the rules before making yourselft look foolish.

makes perfect sense really. You do not get points for statistical catogories. You get points for scoring and stopping your opponent from scoring. The Giants gave up over 400 yards in the air today but won big and deserved so.
The Eagles turned the game with timley picks, timley sacks and big plays on off. Why can you not give credit where credit is due?
Let me start, The Washington Redskins, BEAT the Dallas Cowboys on the field 22-19 this year and they came up with the big plays they needed to deserve the win. It was not the refs, it was not self inflicted, it was Washington beating Dallas........

Ok 94,
Who is going to win next week between the other two division teams and why?
Thats a hard one, I will try.
The Giants are almost unbeatable when they play their best (on offense) So if they get things clicking in the run game the way the Skins did they will prolly win the game. It is a December game in NY, so it will be hard for Philly to come in and win that game. I will go on record with a NY 28-26 win. Philly will be in the game till the end and it will be a dog fight, i just think the run D will fail them, and Eli is 50 million times better then Campbell (at this point of their respected careers.) So he will not make the mistakes Campbell made...i dont think....
plus its the middle of 3 straigh road division games.
and The gapped tooth wonder will be playing, he is a game changer on the Def. side of the ball, Washington had no one that could get in there and disrupt what philly was doing...not any with consistancy.....

Yep, the 'Skins gave the game away and the Feables took advantage. A win is a win.
Having said that, all Feables fans have to know the truth about their team. They are going to lose their next two games at NY and Dall@$$. They'll be lucky to sneak into the playoffs.

I'm a reasonable man, tr1. We aren't going anywhere this year. The run defense is as bad as I have seen since I've been watching Eagles football. If they weren't wearing green, I wouldn't recognize them.
At the same time, I guess I am able to just enjoy single games when all the pressure of winning it all isn't there. If we were 10-2 and played like we did today, I'd be beside myself in agony.
Right now, I am completely calm and happy. We swept you. We swept you. We swept you.
No amount of hyperbole on an internet messageboard can change that.
We went into your ****ing house and beat you. Period.

I feel the same way. My mentality regarding the Eagles is completely different this season. All the years of counting wins during the year in reference to seeds was fun, but man was it tense. I'd clearly rather be a top tier team again, but watching games for the singular enjoyment of a sunday afternoon of entertainment ain't so bad either.

Provided the Eagles make the playoffs, and with the way their D gave up yards today, I know that's a big "IF", I could actually see them maybe stealing the first game. No team is dominant in the NFC. None. The Cowboys can be passed against. The Bears QB is worse than Mike McMahon. The Saints defense can be scored upon. Not to mention that there is no team with more playoff experience than the Eagles right now, which sould be a positive. All that being said, their run def. is atrocious and if they can't get up on a team quickly, they're going to really struggle.
I thought the 2nd half of yesterday's game was the worse called game for JJ that I've seen in a long time. Campbell should have been all-out blitzed repeatedly instead of just sending one other guy. The time that Sheldon Brown lined up as a blitzer (didn't even attempt to disguise) was pathetic. Sellers rode him around the QB all the way to the sideline. The falcolns showed how to beat Campbell - just blitz him and the Eagles were unimaginative at best in getting pressure on Campbell.

Philly is trying to compete for a playoff spot, they should be able to come out to play.
