Saints go for it with a 4th and 1 on dallas 38. They now have a chance to score. Joe Gibbs would have punted there.

What a call, a reverse on a 4th down. Payton has brass balls.

skinsngibbs4life

that was a VERY risky call on 4th and 1, aand i cant believe they called it. They play was about a half of foot away from being the stupidest call ever.

This shows how truly pathetic Dallas fans could be. I know we take abuse because often a large amount of visiting fans get into Fed Ex, but we have a 97,000 seat stadium, so even if 10-15,000 visiting fans get in, that leavesa bout 80,000 Skins fans.....if you only have a 60,000 seat stadium, how do you let THAT many tickets get to Saints fans, especially when you are 8-4 and making a run at the playoffs?

C'mon do you truly believe that Texas stadium is full of Saints fans? They concentrated on a section with alot of fans. Not like it's a long drive from New Orleans to Dallas anyways so I'm sure that accounts for the larger than normal visting team fanbase.

Do these NFL Rules Contradict each other? Just asking.....

How is spiking the ball to stop the clock NOT Intentional Grounding?

AND

How is a kneel-down a valid play when technically the play is not over until the ball carrier is touched by a defender?

Technically I know why these plays exist and why they are allowed, but I just wonder how they are within the rules?

It's not that Romo sucks, it's that with COWBOYS Fans, the players on their team always are considered "the next coming" of whoever.

Romo isn't simply allowed to be a good, young QB on his way to getting better, he HAS TO BE considered the next Montana or Brady.

De Marcus Ware can't simply be a "good-great player that one day could be special" HAS TO BE considered the next coming of Reggie White or Charles Haley.

Roy Williams, Newman, etc etc etc......same story, different players.

Strange you ask... I was thinking about this one earlier.

The only thing I can think is that the wording for grounding might be getting rid of the ball "to avoid the sack"... which would be different from spiking the ball

They are exceptions...A spike is allowed because they know what you are doing, and the kneel down is because they are trying to protext the QB...Why is a kneel down in the endzone a automatice blow the whisel?

Do these NFL Rules Contradict each other? Just asking.....

How is spiking the ball to stop the clock NOT Intentional Grounding?

AND

How is a kneel-down a valid play when technically the play is not over until the ball carrier is touched by a defender?

Technically I know why these plays exist and why they are allowed, but I just wonder how they are within the rules?

spiking used to be grounding, but the exception was made if the QB spiked the ball straight down to stop the clock, not trying avoid a sack, it's allowed

the player who surrenders the play ends the play to prevent injury...... like a fair catch, or kneel down in the end zone
