I think poster #1 had a different name before the merger. After the merger, I think the mods, or someone else, tried to regulate all activity under that name, but they abandoned that very quickly.

How I got #6 I'm not sure. I showed up a couple months after the site started in May 2000 and was probably more like member 50 or something. We've been through several server and software changes along the way, so some of the numbers for the early crew got shuffled. That or Die Hard or Blade (who was a member at first, not an owner--he stepped up when Die Hard was considering shutting the site down due to time constraints and he and DH became co-owners) bumped the number up for some reason I've never known.

That was an avatar given to wildbill and to one other member whose name escapes me that gave money to support the site in the VERY early days. To thank them for their support Die Hard and Blade gave them special avatars.

EDIT: Sag is the other person who had the silent partner avatar.

Also: laurent and whiskeypeet were the two members who had the dedicated but embarassed avatars up. They may want them back. :)
