There's an interesting stat that since 1960. After 8 years of one party holding the white house; the white house goes back to the other party. Only once has this not held true- 1988.
1960- After 8 years of Republican Eisenhower; the democrat Kennedy gets elected.
1968- After 8 years of Democrats Kennedy, then Johnson; the republican Nixon gets elected.
1976- After 8 years of Republicans Nixon, then Ford; the democrat Carter gets elected.
2000- After 8 years of the Democrat Clinton; the Republican Bush II gets elected.
Only once since 1960 has this trend not held true. In 1988. After 8 Years of Republican Reagan, republican Bush I gets elected.
I say the odds are we get a democrat to succeed Bush II- regardless of who that might be.
