With all the negative vibes around our defense... I'd just like to give a shout out to Saunders for having the offense clicking a bit at this end of the season.
If you ever watched KC run the past few years, you know their bread and butter play was the outside pitch sweep. The offensive line and Betts have been executing this one to perfection the past few games. I had a flash back to Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson running behind a pulling Roaf for a bit.

Yeah, I'll give you that but has he really lived up to his 2 million a year salary? I hope next year he sure does. :2cents:

the o is starting to click, but i'd be hesitant to throw all of the credit in as' direction. the switch at qb as well as a new & real commitment to the run are also strong contributors

I think he's done a good job this year considering he had Brunell playing for over half the year, then a learn-on-the-job guy in Campbell, all on top of losing our top-5 back for half the year. We didn't put up alot of points this year, but we showed flashes of what we could be. I fully expect us to be as dynamic next year as we expected to be this year.

I for one believe that in the last four or five games saunders is not the only man to call the plays. I think gibbs is silently taking back some of the shot calling, i.e. how many times in the first ten games was the counter trey called as opposed to the last 5 ???? Say what you will but my mind is made up!!!

Those words from Trent Green come back to haunt us... "It will take about one year to learn and be successful in the Al Saunders Offense."

I agree with your assessment of this season, but Campbell is still a huge question mark. We can hope but realistically we don't know what to expect next year.
Both Portis in 2005 and Betts this season ran very well against teams that were not very good in rush defense in closing out the seasons. We have to remember that in adjusting our expectations. We also need to see a consistent, professional passing game.

I prefer to think of him more as a huge exclamation mark.

For some reason im just not fully convinced that this is all Al Saunders playcalling. This seems like Joe Gibbs style. Maybe they are just colaborating but whatever it is i like it.

please give AS some props--he has taken much heat so give him a bit of credit as well.--we have been racking up the yards the past few games. All the inside handoffs that gain 10+ yards? vintage AS.

I prefer to think of him [Campbell] more as a huge exclamation mark.
You prefer to think of him that way? Well, I'd prefer to think of myself, at 71, as having the sex appeal of George Clooney.

It has looked better since JC came in and Boonell was benched. Completion percentage and third down percentage needs to go up, but that will come in time for JC.

i ripped AS mercilessly earlier in the year, esp. after the phila. game, for going away from the run just when it was starting to work.
but ill give him some props now. i dont know if its gibbs influence or what but the O does seem to be coming together.
now lets just hope and pray that what everyone said about taking about a year to learn the offense was true and that this was the year and that what we are doing now will carry over into next year and we start out red hot...
if we go back to square one starting next year and have trouble scoring TDs i think i might lose my mind.
