Usually yahoo's NFL analysis is less than perfect, but this time i think they really nailed what the skins need from the draft and in the offseason. check it out:

The Redskins are without some of their draft day fire power as they dealt a 2007 third-round pick and 2008 fourth-round choice to get running back T.J. Duckett into the fold. The impressive play of Ladell Betts in the absence of Clinton Portis gives them a huge chip to use on the open market, as either player could potentially bring back a starter and draft choice, or just a high-round selection. The Texans would probably greatly prefer an established star back over the potential of a rookie that could struggle early to adapt to the NFL game.

Expect to see the Redskins go full steam after Bills free agent cornerback Nate Clements, but they must find a pass rusher and could overpay Baltimore's Adalius Thomas if the 49ers don’t beat them to it.

A good fit for the ‘Skins in the draft would be Florida defensive back Reggie Nelson or LSU safety LaRon Landry, who would serve them well in the fact that they can play more of the center-field role, allowing Sean Taylor to revert to playing with reckless abandon.

i seriously forgot how much better ST is when he can ball hawk and not sit back in coverage like a retard. damn our awful secondary. i dont like this idea either, we dont need someone younger than taylor playing behind him. springs and taylor back there is the best idea ever. can you imagine a secondary with Clements/Rogers/Springs/Taylor with Prioleau/Fox/Jimoh/Vincent/Doughty for backup? that would rule. i think they should draft CBs and OL with their 5th 6th and 7th picks.

Agree, especially if the likes of Branch, Adams, or Woodley are still on the board when we pick.

Am i the only one who would love to see us get Paul Puzlusny if he is still on the board?

I think our biggest need is a solid CB or DL, followed by a SS. But as long as we can get a healthy Preliou back, we should be ok. I really miss Ryan Clark though.

We also need some depth at O-line to the point we could rotate them to keep them fresh like we used to with the Hogs in the glory days. Re-signing Dock is a priority as well.

I would also advocate getting a top notch talent linebacker. It's obvious our Defense hasn't been the same since we lost the physical talent that Lavar brought with him and Peirce as well. I would advocate maybe getting a great Middle Linebacker and moving Lemar Marshall back to outside LB.

The bottom line is we do need to start getting younger. Most of our guys are starting the back part of their career and could be on the decline. That means the window of oppurtunity is closing FAST unless we can get some youthful talent waiting to step in and even excell beyond those guys.

I do agree with this, considering that Lemar did a fine job in '04 when he had to fill in for Lavar on the weakside. However ... what're we gonna do with Rocky if that happens?
