View Full Version : Is Blatche earning his minutes now?

Walt Williams made a good point in the post game show. He said some players are just gamers and you have to give them the shot. In two games, Blatche has done just about as well as you can do for the limited playing time. Against charlotte he had 4 CRUCIAL rebounds and against Orlando he played pesky defense and had a big and 1. I sure would love for him to get some of Booth's minutes. Reaguardless of what happens this season from Blatche, you have to love our future prospects with two young 7 footers coming off the bench. If Blatche and Pecherov develop at a high rate, they could be what pushes this team to be elite.

Yeah, he had that sick coast to coast series (I believe) ending with that and 1, which was great. I hope he gets more PT.

I wasnt at the game but you could hear on the TV when Blatche got the rebound and took off downcourt it sounded like everyone was yelling for him to give the ball up and then he got the And 1. At least that's what I was doing from home.

One of those cases where you're saying "No, no, no" and then he makes the shot and you say "Yes!!!"

Yeah, lol, I was one of those "no, no, no, Yesssss!!!" type of people yesterday on that play. Sometimes even when Jamison, Caron or even Gil (even though I have a ton of faith in the big 3), sometimes they shoot too early in the shot clock or just crazy shots, and it's like "no, no, Yess!! I knew they could make it."

I'm thrilled about his progress. He's earning his time and it's not just garbage time anymore. He's getting good minutes with the first team and proving his worth.

I was at the game, and you're exactly right...

I was one of the people going "NO", but it was a nice play and I was glad to see him make it.

BTW Verizon Center was truly off the hook last night. It felt like the paloffs games from last season in there. Good times.

Oh yeah, and Booth's back-to-back 3-second violations had me wanting to run on the court and strangle his goofy ass. There was a lot of cursing going on...

I'm so proud of Andray.

I wasn't at the game (grr, I had tickets too) but did anyone hear how Phil Chenier sounded like a proud papa when he said, "Thats right young fella way to go"

Nobody has mentioned Dray's defense on Dwight Howard yet, granted he got dunked on once, but that offensive foul he drew was crucial. He is good.

If he wasn't so skinny that his uniform looked 5 sizes too big on him, he'd be the first off the bench I think, as is - he needs to just keep doing what he's doing until he grows into a man's body.

Every time there is a shot that goes up, there comes dray flying through the air towards the hoop, dude is always a foot in the air above anyone else, sometimes it is just wild jumping, but his athleticism showed a different look against a superstud like Dwight Howard if nothing else.

DH is a beast-man. Looking at him and Dray next to each other really makes me appreciate how amazing a manchild Dwight is, as Dwight is about 13 months older than Andray. Wow.

Every scout I've read/heard has said that Dray has a big frame (meaning he will be able to fill out and not sacrifice quikness) he just is still growing and hasn't begun to fill out yet.

Those same scouts say Pecherov has a small frame though and will not ever be a big thick guy, so maybe Pecherov 235-245, and Andray 265-270? Thats nice.

Excellent post Spearhead, you are correct on all points.

I wish I could have heard Chenier speak on Andray's play. I'm glad to see he's starting to earn some PT and I hope he can keep contributing because I would like to see him in the regular rotation at some point this season.

We saw flashes of the ball handling. Imagine what Andray would do in an offense run by Don Nelson, the inventor of the point-forward?

I think he'll be there eventually. Looks like he's on his way.
