E-Dog Night

I recently re-read this book, and decided to check the internets for some analysis on certain aspects of it. Then I discovered that it is being made into a movie, and is currently under production.
At first, I was excited about this. Then I discovered that Angelina Jolie was to play Dagny Taggert. Now, I like her just fine, but mostly bewcause she is fine. I just din't feel confident that she could pull off this particular role. Jodie Foster or Kate Winslete seemed like much more logical choices. But it looks like Jolie is etched in stone
She did make this quote:
"Everybody involved, the producers involved, we all sat down around a table and we all agreed that if we couldn’t do it right, if we couldn’t do it justice, if along the way any one piece didn’t come together like the right director or the right script, then we would all just fold it and not do it. So that’s where we’re at right now. We’re taking it step by step, and we’re going to make damn sure that it’s done right."
Well I hope so.
But two other things that I heard bothered me: (1) It's not going to be a time piece but rather it's going to be set in present-day America. I simply do not know how they are going to pull that off, considering the technlogical plot aspects of the book. and (2) That Brad Pitt is going to play John Galt.
I really hope both of those rumors turnm out to be wrong.
Any fans of this book, I'm interested in your thoughts on this.
