Need Recommendation for Exterminator

Any recommendation for an exterminator in northern VA? There are roaches in the kitchen and sometimes in the bathroom. Normally the light is left on to make most of the roaches hide, but just today the lights were off, but when I turned it on, I saw a handful of roaches scurry across the counters into darkness. It's pretty sickening.

If you have them in the bathroom and kitchen, they most probably come from out of the plug-hole. I would plug them up at night. Apart from that tidbit of information, sorry can't find an exterminator for you.

If you would like to try to take care of the problem yourself, you can try boric acid or go online and order a gel bait (not those stupid baits that you can buy in the store). I would recommend Maxforce. If you use either, make sure it is where no kids or pets can come in contact with it.

As far as exterminators, there are several. I used to work for Home Paramount, and would use them personally, but most companies use the same procedures. Just make sure when you talk to them that you ask whether or not they use baits/IGRs and not a liquid/imulsion-based spray (such as Tempo). The use of baits and IGRs take a little longer to make a noticable difference, but the effect is much more long term.
