Gametime is at 7..First game with the old ball back..Is Arenas and Haywood playing?
Go Wizards!!
r2k64
January-3rd-2007, 01:30 PM
From the Washington Times:
Note -- Arenas (shoulder) was able to practice and it appears likely he'll play tonight against the Bucks. Center Brendan Haywood (ankle), who missed last Saturday's game (ankle), also indicated he should be ready to play. Wizards sources indicated center Etan Thomas (ankle) is close to being ready to return and could be in the lineup before the week ends. Thomas has missed the last 10 games and hasn't appeared in a game since Dec. 9.
It'll be a good game tonight. Last time they were here, I believe we had to make a 4th quarter comeback. Hopefully we won't have to make any major comebacks and we'll have a steady lead throughout. It's going to be interesting to see how the Wizards play wth the ball and see if it helps/hurts/doesn't make a difference in our shooting. We need big games from the "Big Three." You know that Arenas had somewhat of an off game on Saturday, so you figure he'll explode tonight. Let's get some payback tonight. Go Wiz!!!

Gilbert Arenas is a gametime decision..
And some of the players are upset by the celebration the bucks did when they beat us saturday night..Antonio Daniels said they acted like they just won game 7 on the NBA Finals..They were bumping chests and hugging..And they dropped ribbons and stuff when they beat us.

awesome. Blatche got a mention in pregame. I hope the kid stays on the map. He is a big part of our future. Its up to him to push AJ to the bench. I hope he sees the PF as his position. Its up to him to go take it. It may take a year but I hope he is thinking that way.
We are legit this year, but next year, I will expect us to contend for the title from jump street.
SantanaClaus89
January-3rd-2007, 06:07 PM
Is that true?
Yes, it's true... All Darius is cleared to do right now is light running on a low-impact treadmill. Don't expect him back until the All-Star break, and it will take him some time to find his legs once he does finally come back.

Just got back from the game. Wow, what an incredible shot. I didn't understand why he took his sweet time dribbling up court with the clock winding down, but he knows what he's doing. Amazing. It's great to see a buzzer-beater, and for him to do it at home, was just special. Great game.
Also, a funny part was when Chris McCray (former Terp) was coming back to the bench after halftime, a fan next to me said something like "Hey Chris, if you need help with your homework, I can help you" and Chris was smiling and laughing and made the "I'll call you back sign" with his hand back at him, it was great.
Great win. Glad we got some payback.

Must have been a sick game to go to. I loved Gilbert's reaction after the shot. He just looked like he was playing pissed. Arenas just took over in the last 10 minutes, and after the game when asked about the shot, he said "Why are you all surprised??"
Gotta love Gilbert... :applause:
Now the Wiz gotta get another win streak going with a win against the Clippers at home on Friday.

The Bucks played better than we did last night. We need our big men to get healthy soon before some team exploits the **** out of our current weakness - no inside presence.

When we got the rebound after the Bell 3, the first instinct was get down the court and at least attack the hoop, who knows they may call a foul although they let a whole lot of contact late in the game. But when Gil took his time, I said to myself, "he's gonna pull up for the deep three" and I knew that would go in, he's done it many times before.
On another note, it was mentioned earlier in the thread. When Antawn made that three, and Buck yelled "BULLSEYE!!" Unless I've been missing something, I havent heard that from him before. And he nailed that call too, that was perfect.

Yeah it was a a tribute call to Jimmy, ala the "That ones for you jimmy!" that followed the bullseye.
I love all the Wiz broadcasters, We all love the Daggarrrrr! and Backbreaker! but I'm also partial to WTEM's Dave Johnson and his, Its there! Its there!
Something so simple but comfortable about the Its there!
I've been waiting my whole life for the Wiz to be truly relevant. And not just in that Chris Webber, Mitch Richmond or Kwame/MJ23 kinda way. This rules.
