There's still a LONG way to go in the season, but Gilbert's definitely got us in great position.

we are going to have to start finding some rest for Gil. With the shoulder hurting, we need to make sure this doesnt become a problem.
I was just looking at his FT since the injury and they have gone down and
Brendan has a sore ankle.
Etan should be back for Sundays game. They said that during the game.
That should help with Haywoods minutes.
Im just saying we need to start getting these guys some rest. That mean more minutes for Blatche and AD whenever possible.

That probably has as much to do with the zone defenses that have been run (by Milwaukee twice and the Clippers) than it has with the injury.

Wow, we'll be at the top as long as Gil averages 30. Per ESPNEWS, the Wiz are 16-1 when Gil scores 30+. Thats MVP worthy!

The #1 and #2 seeds have flip-flopped with Chicago just finishing off the Pistons. Now we're 1 1/2 games behind the Cavaliers (who beat New Jersey tonight) and 1/2 game behind the Pistons. The Bulls are a few percentage points behind us.

Well, this is a tough run of games. The loss to NO really hurt. It's not going to get easier any time soon.

so when he scores under 30, they lose.. is gilbert good only when he scores? see nash and kobe dont need to score 30+ a night for thier teams to win .

Nash and kobe??? Might as well compare Mutombo and Earl Boykins:doh:.....
Nash is a pass first point guard, he runs the team and leads the league in assists. His team doesnt need him to score...
Kobe is a scorer, for his team to win he has to score and score a lot of points. Why dont you do some research and educate me on Kobe's role in his team winning.

I agree on the Nash part, but I wholeheartedly disagree about Kobe. The last couple of games (and mostly this year), Kobe didn't need to score as much to win. Here are some examples, granted its not tremendously low scoring, its still below 30 points and below his season average of 28ppg.
Kobe -
Against Denver scored 8 points in a win
Against Dallas scored 26 points in a win
Against Orlando scored 26 points in a win
Against New Jersey scored 21 points in a win
Against Minnesota scored 24 points in a win
Against Houston scored 23 points in a win
Against Miami score 25 points in a win
These are just some games, I didn't feel like going back earlier into the year. So the fact that he has to score and score a lot is not true for the 2006/2007 Lakers..
Whereas for Gilbert, when he scores under 30 the Wiz are I think 4-14, not quite sure, but its something like that.

No doubt. Especially at home, the Wiz cannot afford a letdown loss after a great first win in the opener of a back-to-back.
By the way, did anyone see J.R. Smith take away Varejao's manhood in the Cavs/Nugs game??

yeep. DET is playing SAC which they should win.
we need this win so when we go head to head next Friday at DET, we can put a little distance between ourselves and DET. If we lose, we get them again the following Tues at home.
Man this is a tight pack.
We are only a hair over Cleveland because of a 1/2 game advantage in the conference record.
Nice game by AJ last game. I give him hell a lot, but thats the kind of game you give him heavy minutes. When he is on, he is worth having on the floor the whole game. Except a last stand stop. :D

Cleveland lost to Orlando 90-79
Chicago lost to Indi 98-91
we hold a 1/2 game lead over Det now number 2 and Cleveland number 3
Cleveland is back from the west coast tour and plays phili back to back this week, should be some easy wins. PHI, @PHI, PHX, GS
We have PHX, @DET, @BOS, DET
DET has @CHA, WAS, IND, @WAS
wow, this could play out a few ways. Like the thread says, its a horse race.
We have a chance to gain nice ground between us an DET, split or sink.
DET could end up really getting a bust from the Webber deal.
Wallace, Webber and Prince in the front court with Rip and Chancey. Thats a nice line up. Im not sure we have an answer for that. Rasheed and Webber finally united after what almost was here in DC.
CLE can gain ground by going 3-1
Sorry to say, Its more likely then not we are not going to hold onto first after these 4 games and its very possible we about to see a 1-3 or 0-4 run. That would probably drop us back to the 5-6 range.
We are going to have to play some awesome inspired ball to keep this from happening. I just hoping we split with a win at boston and here against DET.
Anything more then that would be awesome.
Oh yeah, and here comes NJ over 500 and on a 5 game winning run.

I just can't help chuckling a bit, because I'd bet Detroit fans are saying the exact same thing right now. They could easily go 1-3 too. As much as I'd love to beat the Suns, it's the Detroit games that I think will tell the most about this team.

Nice call!I was considering adding "And AJ will get hurt, after which we'll drop the game in Toronto". But decided better of it
Anyway, Chicago just lost. I believe it's statistically impossible for them to have a better record than the Wiz by the 4th. Even if we drop the Lakers game and they win their last two. Unless I'm mistaken, it looks like EJ will coach the Allstar game?
