next question: if burger king can put out a game for 4 bucks, why can't microsoft put one out for less than 50? :whoknows:
They have no reason to, because all the tech professionals of your generation can afford it, as can every 16 year old whose mom is buying his games.
The cost of a new computer game kept me away from Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike Source for a long time. Just a few days ago I found a Half-Life 2 Christmas pack at Best Buy that had both, plus a $30 expansion to Half-Life 2 and an updated version of Half-Life 2, ALL for $50. And yet each game sells well at $50 when it comes out.

It's so that they make up for the loss they incur when selling the actual consoles. I recently read that the sales for the original Xbox console were just starting to turn a profit a few months ago.
Take the new PS3's for example. They retail for $600 but the components alone cost nearly $900. Add in the production and distribution costs and you quickly realize they need to make up the difference through software/accessory sales.

I haven't, but Sneak King just looks creepy! As if the "king" isn't creepy enough, now he looks like a peeping tom.

It has a couple different games on it - a Mario Kart racing/battle game and a hockey type game (in bumper cars). It's not the most groundbreaking game in the world, but was surprisingly fun and definitely worth the $4.

Hahahaha, I've got Sneak King, it's pretty funny. The controls are a ***** and you can't change them (I don't think) but it's a fun game.
Basically you sneak up on people, scare them, and present them Whoppers, coffee, hash browns and other stuff.
My favorite was when I got to hide in a pile of leaves, wait for a woman to walk by and scare the **** out of this woman by giving her a hashbrown.

I've thought about it picking them up but I haven't yet ... as we're self-righteous healthy eaters.:laugh:
And Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six Las Vegas and NFS Carbon have been lying around unused in my house so I don't need more games, but if they're fun I'd be interested in hearing about it too.

I have all three.
Sneak King is ok. You have to go through 20 missions to get to the next area. Theres not much to the game, nobody has really played it since the first time.
I don't care for the bumper car game.
Pocketbike Racer is surprisingly fun. Easily the best game of the three. It's not as good as Mario cart, but it's the most fun racing game I've ever bought for 4 bucks.....

They games are fun for larger (3+ players). I played my buddies in the bumpercar one and it was fun as hell. Not nearly as good though when its jus one or two people playing

I have one of these games, and trust me, when you play it, you'll realize why it's $4.99. Limited controls. LAST generation graphics. Not long at all. It's very limited in game play. It's a lot like the games you can buy on xbox live that costs only $5. Don't try to compare them to real games that are $50-60...it's a whole different league.

You should know that the original poster has no control over the direction the thread will take .
I'm disappointed we haven't introduced religion or politics into this one yet.
