Did anyone notice the group they had. I was just watching the first quarter.
Man the officials were terrible. Chicago was
- Over over the back lots
- Hinniwich was fouling on almost every play and he palmed the ball several times
- I saw a traveling
- I saw Hinniwich run into Caron and fall and Caron was called for the foul
- Then Gil gets that in the act of shooting from 3/4 quart with 2+ seconds left. I guess it was if he was shooting with his left hand. That the hand the ball can off.
Then I saw it. The one ref was like 80 and the other was a women.
How do they pick the ref line-up and
are these the best we can do out of a county of what 600 Million people.
LOL - I just had to come in here and say something.

There were some bad calls and bad no calls, but the 80 year old and the woman actually happen to be good refs.

First off, you should be embarassed for not noing our population lol. Try 300 million. Second, Dick Lavetta is a good ref. Palmer ain't half bad either.

Lavetta seems to be a bit tooo stick at times, but over all a good ref.

Yeah, Dick Bavetta is one of the most fair refs in my opinion. One of my favorites. He is very professional and has clear calls and signals and the players respect him. But I do agree, there were bad calls both ways yesterday. Violet Palmer seemed to make a ton of those bad calls yesterday especially.

dick bavetta is horrible IMO.. he makes him more important than the game.. you know that if the game is close at the end, the refs will have something to say.

What's wrong with a female referee? What specific referee function requires male biological equipment?

I forgot to add why should the best referee a non-playoff game between Chicago and Washington? And if you are can do better, why aren't you in uniform?

Violet Palmer made an absolutely awful call before Wallace got his tech. Hayes or someone just ran down the floor and crashed into him while he was running the other way and Wallace got called for a foul, lol. I've never liked her and Hinrich was about to kill her, I've never seen him so pissed.

She actually just called it on the wrong person. Phil and Buck commented on it. Hinnie bumped AD into Wallace. It wasnt really Wallaces fault. I can understand why he was pissed. He didnt even see what happened. His back was turned.

I know you must be joking. She looks damn good to me,and had to her her rep the hard way.
I tell you what.Any NBA who so much makes a move against her or attempts to lay their hands on her is as good as gone.Big Ben was damn close to getting tossed.

ok, let me express my concerns in a more serious tone.
The reason this struck me was the following:
Reffing an NBA game is like reffing a lot of sports. its something that takes physical skills. I'm surprised we don't see more players who aren't good enough to make the pros or more X players.
I want refs who can run, have excellent eye sight and who know the game.
Refs should be athletic so they can get to the best angles.
We lost a ref last night to a calf pull so they only had 2 refs for the game.
As much money as this sport generates, they should even have junior refs on stand by.
