View Full Version : Notice the dissappearance of post-padding threads in the tailgate?
EersSkins05

I remember bashing those threads (song name thread, etc.) and getting responses of "We're not post-padding, we love those threads, they're entertaining."
After posts in the tailgate stop counting for your post count, those threads died out like the dodo.
Coincidence?

Nope....they just moved to the Stadium
They are called Gameday threads.

It's just a phase that message boards go through.... The post padding threads were fun for awhile, but it's just so hard to turn those into Red vs Blue, lib vs conserv.

yeah, whenever i feel like post-padding, i just move to the stadium and look for a suitable thread. game-day threads move fast enough that you can post jibberish and no one would notice.

Game day threads been here a very long time.......never thought of it as post padding. Maybe some use it as padding........those of us who have been on those threads since they began probably never thought of it that way.

I like the song lyrics thread more!! But that thread has been here forever.

Between you, me, the devil, and the deep blue sea I do **edit** not **edit** see what the big deal is with what some term "post padding".
I guess some wear their post count like a badge on their chest. If that is the case then I can see why post count matters.
I just come here for the snacks. :D And to wax poetic when the mood arises...

Surely you can't mean the biggest thread in this forum? The one where actual chat and discussion occured as opposed to posting the one word that came off the top of your head? The one that was essentially the same as another stupid thread that had something to do with cages?

Considering that its nearly impossible to communicate within the thread itself and its just a bunch of people saying "TD!!!!!" or "god damnit, Sean Taylor!" at the same time... it's really more of a post-padding thread than anything else.

The gameday thread used to be great
I will still post in there always, but when I was studying in Europe it was so key
NavyDave and Blondie held it down, NavyDave giving us a detailed update after every 3 plays
It would span maybe 30-40 pages max
Now its just

The AHFB thread and Everyteam really do not coexist well. Once people went to ET, the AHFB was essentially buried except for bumps by the people who didn't go on to ET (namely, georgiaredskin). You also have to keep in mind that the ET crew is very different in composition from the AHFB. Also, the thread was essentially dead once it came football time.
There are only three of us from the original group in that thread who even talk on a consistent basis anymore.

I never understood the dislike for the AHFB thread. I have met most of them now at one time or another and like them all. I even started posting in there near the end. That thread really seemed to polarize people. Weird.

I've only been here a year but didn't start posting in the tailgate until after they took away the post counts. I've never been big on those game threads, post in them once in a while if I'm bored, I've always considered them that. Quality over quantity when you are actually typing a message. :whoknows:

Maybe a coincidence. Maybe not. For those who never gave a **** about post counts in the first place, coincidence.
