After the game Eddie was not happy with the team at all, and basically said they only one leader and that is Jamison but he is hurt right now. Others on the team want to be the leader but they do not do the things that need to be done to be one.
Jamison is the glue to this team, and it is showing now.

Yep. Think it's safe to say we all sorely underappreciated Jamison's value to the team.
I'd still trade him in a heartbeat if it was in a package for KG or Gasol though. ;)

we should do a 3 way trade gilbert to the timberwolves for KG. Jamison to memphis for Pau Gasol. Then our starting line-up would prob be...Antonio daniels, stevenson, caron butler, kevin Garnet, and Pau Gasol. What do you guys think of that lineup??

All this stuff is going to come to a head at some point, hopefully it will birth a better end.
I didn't undervalue Jamison.

Somewhat harsh words from coach at his post game conference, but I absolutely agree with what he said. He basically said Gilbert is not a leader, he does not have leadership qualities. He said Gil is the best player on the team, and usually the team takes on the personality and style of their best player. Kidd has defensive-minded teams in NJ. Nash has unselfish pass-first teams in Phoenix. And when your best player takes bad shots and doesn't play defense, the rest of the team will follow.....just like they have.
Gilbert goes and spouts off to reporters and blames his bad game on the coach asking them to focus on defense? I love Gil, but that is just a flat out lame excuse. I'm glad EJ said what he said. Sometimes you gotta call someone out and make them prove you wrong. And we all know what Gil likes best is to prove someone wrong, so maybe he will step up and respond now.

Let me be this first to say this:
Terrel Owens....<ducks>
That's all.

Gilbert has no confidence in the offensive ability of his teammates. That is the problem.
The wiz played pretty well defensively today, from what I've heard. Though they were utterly outhustled in every single aspect of the game.

You also said we should trade Arenas, and you probably thought we should trade Jamison..I call you a clown.

I said that I would trade Gil for KG if I could. I still would.
I said I might consider trading AJ for Pau Gasol. So did a lot of us on this board as it's not an unreasonable proposition.
Why are you insulting me?

Im not insulting you..Well maybe me calling you a clown was, but im just really pissed about the loss today and how some people jump the ship and insult all of our players including our best player because of 1 game.

gasol> AJ.. gasol can get you 20 and 10 and commands presence in the low post and is one hell of a post defender

This goes a little deeper than 1 game and I think you know that. Regarding "jumping the ship", I think blaming your miserable play and embarassing loss on the coach because he demanded more focus on defense is the very definition of "jumping ship". Just give it some thought and watch the personal attacks. We're all fans here, my friend.

Uh oh, this happened before and Arenas went onto to pass the ball a **** load the next few games and only take a handful of shots. I'm expecting nothing different. I hope I'm wrong because it'll show Arenas has grown up. Man this is getting ugly without Jamison.

He said that we should keep playing our game by trying to outscore teams..That worked before, why change now? I understand we need to play better defense, but if this is the the kind of games we're going to play I would rather try to outscore teams.

Gasol is younger, bigger, stronger, possibly more durable, defensively superior and not at all bad offensively. AJ is a fine player and individual but he is NOT an "untradeable" player. Almost no one is. Even Shaq got traded!

Jordan is the coach. He gives the orders. Arenas is the player. He follows the orders of the coach. Arenas' post-game comments today are frighteningly similar to Terrel Owens taking the mic after a loss and demanding to have more balls thrown to him. It's a very bad thing for the team. Very Bad!

I understand we need to play better defense, but if this is the the kind of games we're going to play I would rather try to outscore teams. But EJ has a good point that without Antawn, it is going to be harder to outscore teams. We SHOULD be focusing more on defense during this stretch ... it should make us a better team later on. We're missing one of our best players, so we can't just do what we did before - things are going to be different without Antawn on the floor, and the team needs to figure out how to play without him.
I wouldn't read too much into Gil's comments - he is understandably frustrated about laying an egg when he was supposed to score 50. EJ is right though ... everyone, including Gil, needs to focus a little more on defense.

I very much agree with you on the first part, though the 2nd part is a little off.
Arenas is an immature 25 year old, we know this. Terrel owens is close to a decade older, it is much less forgivable.
Gilbert was obviously embarrassed, and his remarks privately later to Ivan Carter display this. The team can make it through it.

Im not sure who these people are that underapprehiated him. AJ is always highly regarded on this board. He just sucks at D.

Exactly. I love me some Tawn. Johnny come latelies maybe didn't see how the team changed once he arrived, and I will love Tawn even more when he is making 5 million instead of 17, but yeah.
Come back soon Tawn!

well, for the most part, the line ups sucked. Score one for Gil.
EJ has the right idea, but you have to line them up to make it happen.
I like what EJ is saying, its just he is as much to blame as anyone in all this.

I really like AJ but anyone who thinks trading jamison for Pau Gasol straight up is bad for the wizards is crazy IMO. Gasol is younger, Taller, bigger, stronger, MUCH MUCH MUCH better on deffense, scores what? 20 points a game and grabs another 8-10 boards. I think EG would make that trade in a second if it was offered.

its not the that
jamison is our leader the whole team acts nuts without him
u think arenas is gonna take it easy with some foreign guy taking over the team?
everyone on the wizards respects jamison and that includes arenas trading for high priced players dont win you games
we should know this we are redskins fans

EJ is slwoly losing this team and anyone who's been to a few ga and observed the bench can see that.

Why would anyone give up Gasol for Jamison? Unless the Wizard mortgage their future by including several young players and/or draft picks in the deal. Remember, we've tried that and it didn't work. The redskins are still trying it and it's not working.
This is a rough patch. Don't sell out the future to fix it.

We should have been, should be now, and should always be focusing on defense. It's half the game. Gilbert Arenas is WRONG. End of discussion.
