Not too sure what to make of this. Neither are world beaters but I'd rather keep the size.

this could be discussed as bringing in duhon to start at pg and gil moving over to sg

I hope this happens. Getting rid of Etan will stop all the fights between him and Haywood. Duhon is deadly open from 3, and is good. Remember last year when we were up 10 on the Bulls with like 3 minutes left and he started making all those 3 pointers?

February-14th-2007, 08:42 AM
In the Bulls slow it down system he is averaging just over 7 points a game and 4 assists in 25 minutes. Thats great production coming off the bench definetly in terms of assists. This clears the way for Blatche as well. In a sub par game against Portland AB still had 6 pts and 8 boards which is a good game for Thomas. This could also rid of Thomas contract and push a struggling Hayes farther down the bench.

just wondering the reason why the bulls are willing to trade duhon is because he is the 4th guard in their rotation and also what would happen to stevenson and daniels? Would either of them get less minutes or does this push down hayes even more

duhon is a playmaking guard, id do this deal just because i dont think haywood and etan can co-exist so one has to go

i would definantly do that, Etan hasnt done anything ever in his career, Duhon is young and is an up coming guard in this league.

It's not even a real rumor yet... it's a suggestion from Hoopshype.com to the Bulls.
If either team actually starts talking then it's a rumor.

Duhon isn't an up and coming guard. He is horrible. His offensive game resembles Jared Jeffries. The guy just can't shoot. His play making skills are also not that good. I'd rather have AD out there than Duhon.

Just say NO to the Dookie. Someone better has to be available.

I'd probably do it..Etan and Brendan dont like eachother, and Duhon could take Donell Taylors place, and score off the bench.

Duhon makes about $3 Mil per year. Etan makes about $5. They'd have to throw someone else in. I'd at least consider it but in the end I think we'd be better just keeping the size.

Since we aren't winning the championship, ANYTHING to move Etan's contract would be nice.
I don't really feel one way or another about it, but it would be nice to have a 3 point shooter off the bench (or another one in the starting lineup) - you know, like most NBA teams have.
PS: What is the trade % work out, isn't it 125%? They are pretty close, maybe a minimum contract.

you have to get rid of one of these big man in order to get songlia and blatche more playing time..

Say what you will about Duhon, but please, don't lie.
The guy shoots the color off the ball, he went through a slump, but I've seen him hit 3s for the last 4 years in the NBA.

Not that it's saying much, but he has torched our D a few times and played well against us in the playoffs. I fear him, but I would be on the fence about a trade like this. Someone here mentioned not wanting to give up a big man. I might be inclined to agree. Maybe Chicago should include Ben Wallace. :)

That'd be nice. Jarvis, and Etan (hell, throw in Lang and even Taylor if you want) for Wallace and Duhon.

He's also a solid defender whos capable of running the offense with AD off the bench.

I agree with spearhead. Leave the turtle at the doors fellas, Duhon is a great shooter and team player, not to mention a smart and respectable person which is more than you can say for most Dukies. I would do this trade in a heartbeat, and I can see why the bulls would too. Ben Wallace is always an injury concern for them, and they are overstocked at guard with Ben Gordon Henrich and Duhon.

Not sure I would want to give up big for small, but Etan has pretty much dissapeared since his quick start and he simply cannot co-exist with teh woodman. There's got to be something else out there...

Everyone is crying that we need a PG, we need a PG...we have one, hes sitting on the bench.
Trading a big for duhon is plain dumb. I'd rather have Etan on the bench playing 10 minutes a game than give him up for a run of the mill PG.

I am all for moving Etan. But not for Duhon. If we move him, we need either a forward who plays strong in the paint, or a guy who's solid at D. Not a backup Guard who would be 3rd, maybe 4th in the rotate at that spot.
I did hear about a trade involving a pile of old Mitch Richmond Jerseys to Orlando for Reddick and their 2nd rounder. ;)

Not a backup Guard who would be 3rd, maybe 4th in the rotate at that spot. We're getting stronger at the forward position, though. Blatche, Darius, Ruffin, Booth and even Jarvis can play in the paint. Outside of AD, we really don't have a PG that plays 24/7 with a pass-first mentality.

Hmm, my bad. I haven't followed Duhon since January. It seems like he is having a hot streak right now. But before his hot streak, he had horrible shooting stretches. In the month of January, he was shooting 21% from the field and 13% from three point range. He was doing that while averaging 2.4 point per game and averaging about 20 minutes a game.

February-14th-2007, 08:52 PM
Why do you want that? If you had the D and the passing everywhere else. Then I am happy with the scoring coming from those spots.
My point is that, the goal is a trade for this team would be to improve the D and replace the size you are giving up from Etan. We have plenty of guys who do or can play guard. You aren't going to get some kick butt PG for Etan. So, why settle?

Etan, Jarvis & Lang for Duhon & PJ Brown. Duhon as a solid backup PG & PJ to backup Brendan (plus his expiring $8mil contract). Gets rid of ET & JH without any loss in production.

I would take that in a heartbeat. Etan and Jarvis are DEADWEIGHT. Especially with Etan's albatross of a contract.

My father made the best point on Jarvis the other day. He is a great catch and shoot player (when he's wide open) but if he has to dribble then shoot he misses nearly every time.

They might give up Duhon or Brown in that trade.

Thomas' contract is a millstone around the neck of this team. Resigning Thomas has really been the only bad move Grunfeld has made.
I wonder, though, why the Bulls would want Thomas? He has no offensive game and is merely an adquate defender. And he can't stay healthy.

Good point. Fact is we DON'T have a guard who is a pure shooter off the bench - and produces. We DO have EG's one big mistake being Etan's contract (@ least with 20/20 hindsight vision), if we could get one of each, it would be good.
Don't root for Wiz decisions all on getting a championship this year, you are setting your selves up for dissapointment that way.
