Washington Receives: Larry Hughes

Philadelphia Trades: Andre Miller

Cleveland Trades: Larry Hughes, Scott Pollard
Cleveland Receives: Andre Miller, Antonio Daniels

Chicago Trades: Chris Duhon
Chicago Receives: Scott Pollard

*Trade works on ESPN's trade machine

If the wizards could get hughes back, they'd be amazing.

Arenas/Taylor
Hughes/Stevenson
Butler/Songaila/Hayes
Jamison/Blatche/songaila
Haywood

ARENAS/HUGHES/BUTLER/JAMISON!!!!! That would be sick and getting hughes back could really energize the team and make them believe that they can win a title.

Cleveland makes the trade because hughes' contract looks like a mistake because he's struggling. They also get andre miller, the point guard that they've been looking for.

Philly makes the trade because they get two solid young players in positions of need, and they get late 1st round pick.

Chicago Makes the trade because they get the big man they're supposedly looking for.

What do you think?

Why would the Wizards make this move? They wouldn't lift a finger to make two opponents that they most likely will have to meet in the playoffs better.

Why would they make a trade to give the Cavs a reliable PG and a reliable backup and help them get rid of a FA mistake?

Are you a Cavs or LeBron fan?

BECAUSE THE CAVS WILL GET THEIR POINT GUARD ANYWAY

Might as well get hughes for our scrubs and a meaningless pick...

I'd rather just sit back and laugh at the idiot cavs for signing the Adrian Beltre of the NBA.

Why would we give up all of that for Larry Hughes?

but we're relieving ourselves of two equally poor contracts. Having Daniels and THomas signed longterm isnt a good situation either. Hughes can be the difference so it's worth considering. We have to build this team, and this is a perfect opportunity to add a good player. Arenas/Hughes/Butler/Jamison/Haywood is as solid a starting five as you'll see and Songaila/Blatche/Stevenson off the bench isnt bad. You have to consider where this trade could put us vs where we are now. It's not like it hinders our ability to sign players any more than thomas and daniels do--combined their contracts are just as long and just as expensive as hughes so I dont see why the front office would be too opposed to it. If this trade works out and Hughes plays even close to the level that he played while he was here, then it's a steal for the wizards because they replace Stevenson with Hughes in the starting lineup and Daniels with Stevenson off the bench--an obvious upgrade in the backcourt. They also trade thomas who has problems fitting in and doesnt have the potential to see much playing time anyway with Brendan playing well at center. Even if this trade blows up and hughes doesnt play well, i'm assuming that hes still going to be considerably better than daniels and there's no way that you can convince me that losing thomas is going to be a deciding factor.

It may be difficult to get chicago to trade duhon for pollard, or to get cleveland to take on two PGs, but those details can be worked out.

I still miss Larry. I would totally approve of this deal

I feel just the opposite. Larry sucks. Overrated, sloppy ball handler, shoots at the wrong times...and injury prone.

PASS!

The only trade the Wizards should look into is one that involves Jason Kidd.

Ugh, no thanks. Hughes's contract is horrible. He put up great #s in his contract year...sound familiar? Not to mention he's injury prone.

I've heard on a couple of occasions thru the media and from the mouths of Wizard players that Larry regretted taking Cleveland's offer. I'd take him back if we only had to give up Daniels and Thomas. I'm torn though because we need bigs, not smalls.
I doubt this trade scenario is being considered at all by either team though.

I would hesitate to take Hughes back for anything that doesn't include Hayes. First off, he has an expiring contract which would make him an attractive acquisition for a team, he's also the least contributing of all of the players in the rotation.

I like Hughes, but give up all that for 1 player? Umm no.

a meaningless pick...

Not likely, this could be the deepest draft ever

again, forget about hughes' contract because Daniels/Thomas=Hughes (Daniels has 4 years and 24 million left; Etan--4yrs, 25 million. Hughes has 4 yrs-50 million).

If you believe like I do that Daniels and Thomas have reached their potential (OBVIOUS lack of talent) then their contracts over the next few years are worse than Hughes' because good teams have good role players and those guys are bad role playes making 6-7 million a year, probably the league average down the road. That traps a team more than anything.

Hughes is better than both of those guys even in his latest sleepwalk, so at the very least you upgrade the backcourt. If this acts like the spark that gets larry back on the track he was headed on before he left, then it makes us a championship contender.

We have Pecherov coming over next year, so even if it doesnt work out Etan Thomas will quickly be replaced. Also consider that Blatche could be starting by next season. Thomas is expendable. Daniels is worse than Hughes.
