DA sat in on the TNT set tonight with Ernie, Kenny and Charles. After the end of the Chicago/Cleveland game, they showed the ending of the Wiz/Kings game after which Ernie turned to Charles and asked "Pretty exciting stuff, huh, Charles?"

Charles replied, "No. The Kings stink and the Wizards are just pretty good. I want to talk about the Mavs."

At that point, DA chimed in "I disagree with you on that. I think the Wizards are better than just pretty good. I think they have a chance to be really good." DA added emphasis on "really".

We will never be really good with Eddie Jordan as the head coach

That's bull.

This team has come a long way in the past 3 seasons, and have a lot of really young guys. Eddie is doing an excellent job with a very young squad. I bet those Euro's who we own rights to, play D.

I've always liked Aldridge. Was really disappointed ESPN dumped him in favor of that loudmouthed idiot Stephen A. He's from D.C. I believe so good lookin out DA.

He's right though. We have a chance to be very good. Problem is we have to win in spite of moronic coaching.

He is a terrible defensive coach. You clearly saw that tonight. Great coaches don't make the same mistakes over and over again. Great coaches don't play Jarvis Hayes and Ruffin when they have better options available.

ask reggie miller, ewing, malone and stockton.. those guys would have won a championship if there wasn't for a guy named jordan..

Charles is hilarious and has a pretty good grasp of the game of basketball. DA should not have been let go for ANYBODY, let alone Scoop. And Eddie Jordan is a much better coach than his detractors give him credit for. Enjoy the win guys, you can bash EJ tomorrow.

Barkley is an ass.

yeah, but he is usually right. He tell it like it is.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270222027

Look, EJ still doesn't call TOs when he should. I'm forever watching the games and feeling the momentum of the Wiz hit a lul and the other team pick it up while our leads drop and I said, call a TO, but he doesn't. He did it again last night. You call the TO when they get to 10 from a 18 pt lead when your 0-6, not when it gets to 8. The different is, you come out of the TO and if you don't score and they do, now your at 6 from 18 and people start to press and the other team picks it up because they see they are so close.

Also, I expected Blatche to not have a stellar game last night. Don't ask why, it was just a gut thing. But he still came out fast with rebounds and blocks. He didn't seem to be looking for his shot at all but instead was playing a Ruffin type roll. But he was still all over the place playing solid D.

EJs first quarter rotation seemed fine. Blatche started the game and was out with 4-5 mins to go in the first. Then Sagaila and others came in, but Sagaila isn't quick enough to defend well and he is racking up lots of fouls. He couldn't even begin to cover Artest or anyone in the post, that was obvious.

So going down the stretch, where was Blatche? You had Sagiala, Booth and Ruffin instead of Blatche. You loosing your lead and Artest is going off on you and you need better D, but Blatche sat. So did Haywood.

Or look at it more simply. Even after Sagaila fouled out, do you want Ruffin in or Blatche. Blatche can do everything Ruffin does, plus he can hit those FTs, block shots, he is longer and he is more likely to get a put back. It was a no brainer to me.

If you compare him to Sagaila. Sure Sagaila has more offensive confidence right now but he had 6 fouls that translated into at least 4-5 pts on Artest FTs plus the pts he scored on the shot he made while being fouled. It all come back to your +/-

Sag 17 mins 6 fouls 1 bk 2 rbs 6 pts on 3-7 but probably gave up like 16 pts
Ruffin 13 min 1 foul 0 blks 2 rbs 2 turnovers 0 pts on 0-0
Blatche 16 mins 1 foul 1 blk 2 rbs 2 turnovers 0 pts on 0-1

Stats don't always tell the whole story because players gets tips and box out for others. Blatche was playing an active support game and bother people defensively and boxing out great. Sagailas D looked more like AJs D. Ruffin was just being Ruffin.

So while EJ seemed to get the first 1/2 subs ok and the start of the second half ok, he blow it down the stretch. Maybe that had something to do with the lead being lost.

Where was Haywood, Etan or Blatche? On the bench.
Where were the timely TOs when there was a lul in energy. They always come a possession or 2 to late.

In a close game, this flaws will loose you games. In the playoffs, you don't have games to loose because of coaching.

That's why many think we wont be great until EJ stops doing these things or we get a different coach.

We won that game on Gils individual talent. 45 mins 43 pts 16-17 from the line which racked up lots of fouls on them. CBs 39 mins and a timely turnover and DS 39 mins of efficient productive ball.

No way that game should have been that close.

I went to college with Aldridge. He grew up a Wizards fan and knows what he's talking about. I'm be more inclined to go with what he has to say over Barkley any day.

Last time i checked, Eddie Jordan isn't guarding Mike Bibby, and im pretty sure he didn't tell Caron, Gil and anybody else on the floor, "you know what, lets make this game interesting, leave Bibby alone to make 5 three pointers in 2 minutes"

EJ, just got done coaching in his first all star game and your saying he is a horrible coach. Well i guesss that makes you a horrible evaluator of coaching talent.

Im so sick of Barkley and his fat mouth and his fat head. All he does is bash the EAST and the Wizards when he can. Always saying well they are in the East so how good can they be???!?!?!??! Well how good do they have to be??!?!?!

Is it because the common knock of "the Wizards dont play defense?"

We have beaten every team that is supposed to be a "CONTENDER" (except Spurs & Raptors) this year. We have beaten the Mavs, the Suns, the Pistons twice, the Lakers, Jazz, Cavs, Bulls......Besides Tim Legler & David Aldridge everybody dissrespects our beloved Wizards on a daily basis. I mean we have won games without AJ to atleast keep our heads above water and we still get dissrespected. F them all.

I think Barkley's comments come mainly from his days as a Sixer when they used to eliminate us from the playoffs every year.

It certainly felt like EVERY year, especially given that, during his time playing against us, my college roommate was from Philly and our obnoxious neighbor LOVED Barkley and kept saying, "The Bullets suck!"

Hands down one of the best players in NBA history. He was simply incredible to watch. We would just physically dominate powers and centers much bigger then him.

ON Sirius NBA Radio yesterday, Kenny "The Jet" Smith was saying that all the guys at TNT call Barkley "Bookman."
Bookman was the building custodian on the tv show "Good Times." When Kenny was asked why they called Charles by that nickname, he said because on Good Times, they always called Bookman "Buffalo Butt."

1) Barkley is tremendously entertaining as an analyst, even if he continues to shortchange the Wiz. He is right more than he is wrong.

2) What did Barkley say about Blatche?

hello we have no defensive players, yes we play a more uptemp type game that is because we are not built for a half court type offense

give him some guys who can play defense then it would be different

eddie jordan is doing an amazing job with what he has, we have only 3 guys that would start on other teams, heck half our bench may not even be on other teams
