Bills Seeking To Trade LB T. Spikes
Associated Press, CNN/Sports Illustrated - [Full Article]
The Bills are seeking offers in a bid to trade Pro Bowl LB Takeo Spikes. If a trade can't be completed, the Bills will consider releasing Spikes, a person familiar with the discussions told The Associated Press on Friday. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the talks and because the Bills have not announced their intentions for Spikes. Spikes was slow recovering last year from a right Achilles' tendon torn in Week 3 of the 2005 season. He's also expensive, scheduled to make $9.5 million over the final two years of the six-year contract, $4.5 million this season.

Wow, they are getting absolutely raped this offseason. Hopefully they can rebuild and not go down the tubes. There won't be much left of their D after the next couple days.

coming off of a couple serious injuries. He's a good leader but more of an Outside Linebacker. It's tough to come back from the injuries he's had and I think he's done being the superstar he once was considered to be.

Yeah Fletcher is a tank. Spikes is an intimidating force but he gets injuries and you don't really hear about him. Like how Gnat fans were so happy to get Lavar last year.
I wouldn't mind getting Spikes. Let it be known.

Posey left last year
Fletcher lef this year
Spikes may leave now too. That was one of the better linebacking units in the league. I guess none of them fit the young cover 2 defense they want. This is another rebuilding year for the bills imo. If magahee leaves they are cooked.

Spikes has played in 15 games for the Bills the last 2 seasons. His leaving is not going to affect their team play that much, since he was barely on the field. Besides they have a good young LB in Crowell and could possibly re-sign Fletcher.

I'm here in buffalo (redskins fan, dont worry) but they all think JP Losman is a hero and can do anything here. That shows you how they think...

I wouldn't say that. I think a lot of them don't know what they have, and are just finally happy that he is getting the chance to start consistently, so they can move forward with him or see he's not the answer and move on.

I would be pretty optimistic about Losman if I were a Bills fan too. He's shown clear signs of progression and has displayed some of the physical tools that can't be learned.
