HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans hosted free agent Patrick
Ramsey on Tuesday, a quarterback who fell to third on the New York
Jets depth chart for a time in 2006 before being released last
week.
Ramsey was traded to the Jets from Washington before last season
and threw just one pass -- an incompletion -- last year. He's
interested in playing for Houston, but he also has other visits
scheduled.
Houston's quarterback situation is a bit of a mystery as rumors
swirl that the team is looking to unload David Carr. The team has
denied those rumors, but even if that were to happen it would be
unlikely that Ramsey, who has only started one game since 2004,
would get the Texans' starting job. Houston's current backup is
Sage Rosenfels.

Good for Patrick, I hope he ends up there. He'll have a chance to play if Carr sucks. I'll be rooting for the guy, as long as he doesn't play against us.

He wont get a chance to play. The texans are very likely going to end up with Jake Plummer, which means patrick would likely be #3 on the depth chart.
his best bet would be to sign with denver. they want him to be cutlers #2. plus that would make me happy because it would be like us getting to screw the broncos over.

Patrick Ramsey > David Carr
I'm sorry but I strongly believe that Ramsey could be a solid NFL starter. I bleed Burgundy & Gold FOR LIFE, but I think we should have given him more of a chance.
However, it is all COMPLETELY irrelevant. Jason Campbell is a God and will win us at least five more Super Bowls.

I'll always think highly of PR for the way he dealt with a very tough situation here.
First, two years of beatings during the spurrier regime.
Then starting out as a backup to Brunell, when he was obviously better.
Then getting promised the job, only to get yanked in game one.
Then after helping us win a HUGE game against the Giants to stay on track for the playoffs, he could only say he was thinking about Mark cause he wanted Mark to lead us into the post season.
Classy guy. Maybe someday he'll find the right situation.

lol Sage Rosenfelds and Ramsey at it again. Of course Ramsey won out the first time. Id be very interested to see who the Texans could possibly get outside of who they have and Ramsey...

You ever watched the Texans O-line in action? What exactly makes you think Ramsey would be successful there?

I agree he is a classy guy, but he didn't get "promised" the job. It was his and he lost it.
I hope he gets another shot somewhere, but I also hope if it's in Houston, they fix that O-line.
