NFLDraftCountdown has him going in the 31st spot to the Bears right now.

And what do we do about our stinking O-line?

Plus I heard the Bears want more in return. Maybe our FO will be nice enough to give them our 1st round pick in 2008 too! :(

Seems like a fine player who could solidify that position for years to come, but considering all the OL we have signed/resigned of late I would be against it. I would take Tank Tyler, Meariweather or the best DE available at #31:2cents:

You mean stinking D-Line?? Also, we do not need a guard right now. We have so many pressing issues. IF we do drop to 31st, i think we should bundle that pick for a third and fourth, giving us more picks. It seems that the 'Skins either want to make a splash, or they just can't find justification in tying up salary on a pick that could be a bust.

I understand where you're coming from but the farther you get down in the draft, the more you use player grades and not just taking guys to fill certain spots. If the Skins have Grubbs rated higher than the other guys they should take him because Dockery's spot is far from solidified.

On the other hand, if they have one of the guys you mentioned graded higher or even then perhaps they should be the pick.

My point is, don't pick a guy just because he fills your biggest need. It's easier to get away with that in the top 20-25 picks or so but the farther down you get, the bigger gamble filling a need becomes.

About the last position we need to use our highest draft pick on is the OLine...

We already have 4 great players there and a 5th that can fill in easily. We need to fill our most GLARING need and not the little piddling ones.

what a waste of a 1st rounder when so many other pressing needs exist.

The thing is, we're not going to be picking in the 31st spot, because we're not going to make this deal with The Bears.

I wouldn't mind going guard if the Bears deal gets consumated. Then next season.... draft a defensive lineman with every single damn pick.

Ben Grubbs is a fine player. So is the guard from Tennessee.

I have been talking about this guy for weeks. Here is an older thread I started with some good info:

Ben Grubbs is a strong guard, easily worthy of a late 1st round pick. He would be a great fit for us, not only is he a good pulling guard which will please Buges, but he also played with Jason Campbell in 2004.

That's if the bears do us the favor of refusing our offer.

I like Justin Harrell with the 31st pick - if he is available

it would be him or tyler, i'm leaning towards harrell also. i'm hoping we don't have to pick at that spot however.

Harrell is a beast...followed him through college, the guy tore his bicep against AF but decided TO PLAY the next week against florida with one arm. He had a hell of a game, and showed alot of heart to play in that condition in his last senior game. Hes pretty well recovered, did 31 reps on the bench at proday.

First, I suspect Grubbs may be gone by the 31st pick. Second, I hereby nominate Bufford for sig of the year! Hi-freaking-larious....and so very true to boot. ;)

The Briggs deal will not happen in my opinion. The deal does not make sense. I think it was all just talk.

The Bears could not find a elite linebacker this late in the game of free agency. And there is not one worth taking at 6.

The Redskins would have 3 highly paid linebackers with Rocky on the bench. And two of them would be new to the system.
