Free Agency This Year

Is it just me or does everyone really like what the Redskins have done this year in the free agency? Yea the briggs trade is kinda like us, but the rest wasn't. For christ sake we actually had some Continuity, keepin in house players and getting guys that shoulda never went away.... I really like this year's free agency. We don't need help on the o-line, Al Saunders first year in St Louis and Kansas City they were just as bad as us and the next year they blew it up! We are gonne be good this year guys, quit dogging this trade its not a bad thing for us. We have all our key points on the team set, and i really think Andre Carter is gonna step up next year, man you guys are nuts....

If we had chosen to spend money on 2nd or 3rd tier FAs, building our depth and adding some ascending players/sleepers to the roster, I would be excited by it. Instead we just didn't add much.

Just not adding FAs doesn't make us a better team.

This has been a good offseason SO FAR. There's no doubt about it. We've improved at MLB and CB. We've added quality depth on the O-Line and appear to have a legitimate plan to replace Dockery. These have all been good, quality, and intelligent moves that have improved the team.

Unfotunately, The Briggs Trade is now looming out there like a Giant Pink Elephant. If it dies, then the offseason report card can remain between an A and a B. If the trade happens, then it will pretty much obliterate all of the good that we've done so far as the elephant runs roughshod throught our salary cap, draft & roster.

Shhhh, don't jinx it! If Vinny hears you he might trade our first round picks in 2009, 2010 and 2011 for Jamarcus Russell and Randy Moss.

What's interesting is we took a team that went to the playoffs and won a game and spent wildley in free agency. We transformed the team after making a playoff run.

Now, coming off a 5 - 11 season, we're content to stand pretty much pat, unless all the wild rumors are true.

Seems to me you should keep a winning team intact and transform a losing team. But what do I know....

It's kinda nice to see "America's Team"(my ass...haha) and the Patriots make free agent mistakes this season instead of us.

I think we got Fletcher at a discount, Smoot came home for a good price, we've signed guys we needed to keep around, and with the exception of this Briggs deal, it looks like Gibbs is running the show!

How are you so sure that they made free agent mistakes? Youd kind of have to see how all their pickups do in the season first to say that don't you?

You know you just can't complain.....the main thing that plagued us last year was injuries, without springs GW couldn't blitz as much, now he has a some depth finally at the CB position, to be honest im not worried about our defence, it's solid all around. If we get Briggs cool, if we get a delineman cool, we dont have any EXTREME needs....we're set all around in my eyes, i really like the team and now everyone had a year to gel into Al Saunder's system....its ust gettin me excited....
