Really nice photography. I can't think of much to criticize except that some of them were a tad dark. Just a tad though.
The one of Betts in your second post is the best.

These look pretty good for RAW unedited pics, but you really need to tweak them. Very nice shots though!

Is it your lense or were you borrowing it? If you are looking to buy, spend the extra money and get L glass.

I dont really have any software editing programs, I want to get one. As for the lens, yes its mine. Its Canon EF75-300mm and the other number on it is f/4-5.6 III USM (w/e that means lol)
Its all learning right now for me (obviously) so once I can learn how to use what I have right then I can upgrade later.
Any programs out there you like/dislike?
the only program I have came with the camera and it only lets me adjust brightness and stuff. Nothing too crazy

The program that comes with the camera is actually quite versitile. You can basically change the photos to all original settings in the camera (white balance, sharpness, B&W filters etc.). You can upgrade the program (if you don't have the latest version) and learn some good tipes at http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/controller?act=HomePageAct.
As far as purchasing a program, Photoshop is a great way to go. You probably got PS Eliments with the camera, but I don't think you can work with RAW pics in there, you will need CS2 for that. GIMP is a free program that is similar to photoshop but I am not sure about its limitations or if you can work with RAW photos. There may be a plug-in for RAW, but I am not sure.
A great program that is only $99 is Photomatix Pro, http://www.hdrsoft.com/. This is for HDR pics.
Another great site is www.fredmiranda.com. It is a forum board that will teach you A LOT and the people are very friendly.

After doing some research I need to get an IS (image stabiliztion) lens which for the 300m I found some as cheap as 550 or so. During my year+ in Iraq I will go and learn more about taking photos. Maybe when I get back I will look into getting something even better at zooming the the one above. Never know where the seats I can get will end up

Hmmm...$550. You need to go to the Canon website and look at the Lenses there. The "L" glass is more expensive but WORTH every penny.
