With the vast knowledge here at extremeskins, I thought I would ask you guys.

Trying to sell my house. When the buyer got a home inspection they found a pinhole leak where the kitchen sink drain meets up with the main. The area that has the leak is cast iron. I sanded the area down to make a solid connection, mixed up some epoxy and applied it to the area. No more leak. Now I get a message from the buyer that they want it professionaly done. I figure I would get it inspected and the plumber could sign off on it.
What do you guys think of what I did?
What do you think the plumber will charge? I was thinking about an hours labor.

I'm in flooring so I run into a lot of plumbers. I think they'll have a minimum charge of probably $75-$100. Also, they're usually so backed up it may be a week or more before they can get to you. Most of these subcontract guys don't even want to get out of bed for something that small-that is why they have a minimum charge.

But at least it's not anything major so hopefully all you'll owe is the minimum. Good luck! Keep us updated....

Well, they plumber isn't going to sign of on the epoxy fix. Too much liability. Usually theres a short section of pite threaded into an elbow inside the wall. If it is that pipe that is leakin, you can remove it with a pipe wrench, and replace it.

The problem is I had fixed it two days before they told me to get a plumber to do it, now I am not going to tear the epoxy off and hire a plumber to fix it.
