Another questionable move be the Giants new GM?
Back-up Search Continues; Giants Will Meet With QB Wright

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, free agent quarterback Anthony Wright (Cincinnati) is Scheduled to meet with the Giants; no specific dates were given.
Wright, an eight year NFL veteran, doesn't really seem like the ideal candidate to fill the Giants back-up role. It's not because he's not capable, it's that Eli Manning has actually seen more playing time than he has. The idea of a "seasoned veteran" back-up, or at least in my eyes, is someone who can help tutor Eli. Someone that has played in very meaningful games and has seen a lot of playing time. Not someone who has appeared in only 28 games over eight NFL seasons.
Then there is the performance factor. Let's be realistic, Wright is not very good. His career completion percentage is only 55.4% and he has a quarterback rating of 66.9. Imagine if Eli got injured, is this the guy the Giants would want leading their team?
My biggest concern is what this means for Jay Fielder. I, like many other Giants fans, were excited when his name surfaced. Unfortunately it looks like another offseason will go by where Fiedler came and went without a contract.
