We have a very good chance to get some wins in this one:
Thursday Trascel (sp)
Friday Bedard
Saturday Cabrera
Sunday Wright

i'll be at the game on Saturday night. Our goal for this series should be 3-1 IMO.:applause:

If we don't at least 2 games I will be mad. I don't like to underestimate teams, cause anything can happen. But this is the time to regroup and to start playing better. I kind of wished we had a dayoff today so we can let our bullpen get some rest.

TheDoyler23

Steve Trachsel vs Gil Meche

Erik Bedard vs Brandon Duckworth

Daniel Cabrera vs Odalis Perez

Jaret Wright? (Hayden Penn?) vs Zach Grienke

The royals have been playing good this season, and Meche is pitching great..Hopefully we can get atleast 2, 3 would be better and 4 well that would be great..I might be going to the game friday.

Are we that bad that we're hoping to split a home series against the Royals?

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 10:56 AM
There's a difference between being bad and not playing well. This lineup is stru-g-g-g-ling

Roberts .139
Mora .244
Markakis .243
Miggi .250
Huff .250
Gibby .200
Millar .222
Patterson .250
Bako .105

Over his six-year career, Huff has hit better in the second half (.303 average, 71 homers, 239 RBIs) than the first (.273, 57, 210).

still no score in the 5th. great starting pitching yet again. The offense is playing badly yet again. Jeez and we thought the pitching was going to be our down fall, it sure looks like the offense is the problem this year.

I never thought this lineup was all that good, but I didn't think it was this bad. These guys are horrible. We don't have legitimate threat (sorry Tejada) in this lineup. We need that guy who can be a run producing machine year in, year out.

Bottom 5 in the AL? Seriously, it might be a bottom 5 offense in the entire ML.

So Sam takes Trachsel out after 85 pitches while cruising thru 7 and predictably, Bradford gets in a jam w 1 out.

10 hits, 1 run. Now that they actaully get a few hits they decide to throw in some DP's to help the Royals out.

5 double plays and getting thrown out at home by 10 feet will do that.

It's a good thing my hair is short as I woulda yanked a bunch out.

Walker K's DeJesus on a 3-2 slider. 2 away with 2 on.

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 08:37 PM
Huff knocks the liner down and saves a run and ends the inning!

Walker gets the second out, Baez gets the 3rd...and we'll see if the micro managing continues.

Mora takes a pitch off the shoulder to get on base.

Come on Kakes!

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 08:42 PM
Markakis bunts Mora over to second. 1 away.

Miggi will prolly be pitched around...or strike out on bad pitches...

EDIT: Miggi intentionally walked to get to a strugggggling Huff and Gibby.

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 08:49 PM
Huff hits a long fly ball to dead center, Mora tags up and goes to thrid. Gibby with the chance to be the hero.

Damn...that Huff ball is gone on a humid July day...

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 08:53 PM
Gibby pops out on a knee high fastball right down broadway.

Extra innings.....again...

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 09:19 PM
Roberts with the double to start the 10th....

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 09:20 PM
Mora bunts over Roberts, 1 away and they have to pitch to Markakis with one away and Miggi on deck.

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 09:21 PM
Markakis gets the IBB to set up the double play. Tejada getting walked as well?

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 09:22 PM
Tejada ALSO gets the IBB to load the bases for The STruggggggling Huff.

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 09:24 PM
Hugg hits a semi hard grounder to first and they cut down the run at the plate.

Gibby up w 2 away...

TheDoyler23
April-12th-2007, 09:26 PM
Gibby loops a single over the 3rd basemans head and it's OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2-1 O's.

April-12th-2007, 10:27 PM
The O's have been pitching very well thus far this season. The O's will bring in the runs offensively eventually, its just all about consistent pitching.

I know it is early ,but if our starters continue to play the way they have, the O's could be a very tough team to beat this season.

I dont think the game sunday will be played..There is suppose to be alot of rain saturday and sunday..Saturdays game may be able to be played.

If Sunday gets rained out, that means the O's would be able to save Guthrie from having to start. However, I actually think he could go 5 or 6 giving up 2 runs againest the Royals.

aejm1400
April-13th-2007, 06:38 PM
2 runs from a Huff Double, but boy that was crap how they took the Homerun away from him after the Royals center fielder argued it. If you didn't see it, it hit the top of the fence, went into the air and back onto the field of play. It was ruled a HR, but changed after the Royal player explained what happened and a conference.

At least the O's got the big 2-out hit and actually scored a few runs.

aejm1400
April-13th-2007, 07:00 PM
O's add another one on Roberts RBI double. O's leading 3-0.

TheDoyler23
April-13th-2007, 07:32 PM
Bedard allows only 1 run in a bases loaded no outs situation, w 2 K's w the frisbee curve.

Nasty

TheDoyler23
April-13th-2007, 07:50 PM
Bedard looks like he's only throwing his curve and 4 seamer. Kinda forcing his way through this one. Has a 4-1 lead though.

aejm1400
April-14th-2007, 07:07 AM
I'm starting to think the O's need different bats during the week then they use on the weekend. Weekday runs hard to come by. Weekend runs seem to be in supply.

TheDoyler23
April-14th-2007, 08:58 AM
The fact that we're a game under .500 with 2 SP's and 2 everyday players out is very encouraging; especially now that we're actually hitting now.

3-0 Royals.

Sanders walked even though the 2-2 and 3-2 pitches looked like strikes, then a single and a hit batter. So then Castillo whiffs catching a ball and its 3-0.

Next pitch us a groundout...of course.

TheDoyler23
April-14th-2007, 08:12 PM
4-2 KC in the 6th, but the O's have the first 2 runners on and no outs. Tejada singled, then Huff drew a 10 pitch walk.

TheDoyler23
April-14th-2007, 08:14 PM
Milarr hits a pop up that falls in cause DeJesus called for it then let it drop. Bases juiced for Gomez.

aejm1400

aejm1400
April-14th-2007, 08:33 PM
I know Cabrera only went 5 and got charged with 3 earned runs, but he pitched well and shouldn't have given up a run in the 1st if Millar makes that catch in LF which was followed up with a DP. Either way, 3 starts, and only 5 walks this year. AAnd yes I'm being nice and not counting those hit batters.

aejm1400

TheDoyler23

Our bullpen is great and I figured it would be with the new guys we got..Back at .500!..Cabrera wasn't to bad, they just hit the balls in the right places..Who knew Gomez would get the biggest hit of the game? lol..I doubt the game will be played tomorrow, but if it is lets go for the sweep!

TheDoyler23
April-14th-2007, 09:35 PM
Both Bedard and Cabrera pitched good enough to win the game despite not having good "stuff" out there. Granted, its against the Royals. But it's still encouraging.

i was at the game, pretty good besides it being freezing out. Cabrera was slightly dissapointing but pitched alright. I was a little worried there before Gomez went yard, the offense wasn't looking to good until that happened. Im really impressed by the bullpen yet again. Offense needs to pick it up a little i think. Jamie Walker is really really impressing me.

BUMP for the makeup game.

O's win 3-2, Markakis with the game winning homer in the 8th after Walker blew the lead in the top of the inning. Cabrera was solid over 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 bb and 1 er.

This win hurts our chances at getting the first overall pick, and Pedro Alvarez. But oh well.
