More than 71,000 attended Penn State's spring football game, and the stands were a sea of maroon and orange in honor of Virginia Tech. One of the Va. Tech victims, Jeremy Herbstritt, earned undergraduate degree at Penn State, and his father works on the Penn State campus. Family members moved coach Joe Paterno to tears as they presented him with Jeremy's Virginia Tech ballcap.

Nice article with pictures here:

This is what sports are all about. It's the only venue where something this powerful can take place. I got chills looking at the VT colors in the PSU crowd. I imagine much of the same will take place when VT takes the field next season. The first VT football game is going to be a very emotional event.

Saw this on sportscenter this morning. Amazing gesture on PSU part. I was really impressed with what they could accomplish in such a short time. Bravo, PSU. :applause:

Same Penn State Pride...

I'll reiterate what I said in another thread, it was awesome to see the unity and support the NCCA truly does share. I unfortunately had to work yesterday, but the streets were easily 50/50 with either blue and white or with maroon and orange. I wish I coulda made it inside to Beaver Stadium.

Wow... this can be an incredibly compassionate nation when we want to be. Total class by PSU... led by an awesome man in Paterno. Kudos to them!

when it comes down to it, we are all Americans. You may not be able to tell on an ordinary day, but in the event of a crisis we have the ability to unite like no other nation in the world.

United we stand, divided we fall.
