Obviously, most of us are hoping that Gil gets an extension signed at some point in the up coming months....however, if there is a chance that he is going to opt out, or wait until the last possible moment to extend, should the Wizards explore some trade scenarios with #0? I just hope this doesn't out to be a situation like what the Nats had w/ Soriano last year...didn't trade him when they had the chance, and got nothing in return...anyways, for some reason I just have a bad feeling about Gil staying here in DC...I will hope for the best, because he is GREAT for not only what he does on the court, but how much he means to numerous people off of it...but, at the end of the day the NBA is a business, and he is going to look out for his best interest. I think a lot of what happens in the up coming months with Todd, free agency, the draft, or even trades will dictate what happens in the Agent Zero extension talks...like I have said before, it is going to be an interesting offseason...

No, we wait until the last possilble moment to sign him if it comes down to that..I would prefer to just re-sign him very soon.

Soriano wasn't traded because what the Nats would get in return for trading him and letting him go to another team was better than what the teams were offering, but I see your point. He has expressed his interest in staying, and hopefully we will work out a deal to keep him here this summer but if we dont feel we can resign him then we should be looking to move him to get a good player in return and not make him the next chris webber.

Very good point. I think Gil wants to wait but that isnt good for us. So EG should force his hand to sign or he should trade him because that would really suck to not get anything for him when he becomes a UFA. At least a trade now would mean getting a great player in return.

Man, AJs salary is killing us. He should be making 1/2 what he makes. Look at some other teams.

And how is AD not start at PG. We are paying him 5.8M to be a 2nd string PG? I don't think that is what EG has in mind.
