Im good luck so I will start another game thread.:)

Tonight is Burress vs Tavares..If we can hold the redsox to 5 runs or less we should be able to win tonight..I think we also go against Schilling and Beckett in this series..

Go O's!!

ok? Who said that was great?

O's get 2 in the top of the first with Doubles by Markakis and Hernandez, and an rbi single from Huff. Lugo knocked down Mora's liner that kept Huff from scoring and Crisp ran down Gibbons' looper to end the inning.

Red Sox don't score in the bottom of the first, but they did get a walk and 2 hits, all with 2 outs. Burress got Lowell to K on an inside fastball.

The O's would have ripped this one open in the top of the second, but great plays by Pedroia and Youkills killed that idea. Patterson would have ripped a one out double, but Youkillis snared the two hopper behind the bag. Pedrioa ended the inning on a diving stop of Tejada's hole seeking grounder. It would have scored Roberts from second no doubt.

The Red Sox score twice in the second. Lugo hit an RBI double, which would have been a can o corn out everywhere else but Fenway, then Burress proceeded to walk Ortiz, them Ramierez with the bases loaded for the second run. UGH.

At least he didn't give up the slam. Burress has thrown 59 pitches in 2 innings. great.

O's get 3 in the 5th. Hernandez had a RBI groundout, Mora with an RBI double that Pena took a bad route on, and Gibby with a run scoring error by Pena on a broken bat sinking liner. Suprised that called that an error, but Pena def butchered it even though it was sinking fast.

5-2 O's. Will it last? Probably not. Even 10 doesn't sound like enough against the Red Sox.

Red Sox are turned away in the 5th and Burres gets out of another jam.

Markakis made the catch of the year for the O's on a ball to the gap in the warning track. With the ball over his head and beyond him, he leapt in the air making a "Jordanesque" pose, snagging the ball above his head.

He believe's he can fly. and he's 3-3.

TheDoyler23

Orioles hold the lead 5-2 thru 6. Todd Williams got 2 outs and gave up an infield hit to Lugo, which was unlucky as Mora threw a one hopper to first that Huff couldn't hold.

So Parrish comes in to face Papi, but PICKS LUGO off at first! Inning over.

TheDoyler23
May-11th-2007, 08:56 PM
Orioles don't score in the 7th.

Boston loads the bases thanks to Parrish allowing a double and 2 walks, then walks in a run.

Bradford comes in to face the PH Drew, who SCALDS a liner to Tejada. Tejada throws to second while falling to get the runner at second, but the ump blew the call.

Jaimie walker gets Cora to pop out to end the inning. And free me from having a heart attack.

5-3 O's. we NEED some insurance runs.

TheDoyler23
May-11th-2007, 09:06 PM
Mora bangs a double off the monster, Gibby dripples a grounder to second to move him over, and Cowboy hits a warning track ball to get him home.

6-3 O's

Walker coming back into the game for the 8th. Ortiz bats third and Manny 4th in this inning. I would LOVE a 3 up 3 down here.

TheDoyler23
May-11th-2007, 09:18 PM
Walker gets Cora to ground out, Lugo rips double down the line.

Ortiz K's on a check swing strike 3 (He went)
Manny being Manny pops out to Huff at first.

TheDoyler23
May-11th-2007, 09:25 PM
Markakis rocks a 1 out double, Tejada is intentionally walked and Hernandez GIDP.

O's have a 6-3 lead with Ray coming in...

TheDoyler23
May-11th-2007, 09:29 PM
Ray gets em 1-2-3 in the 9th, Tejada helping out to SNAG a hard liner to start the inning.

SWEET DREAMS!

I need a drink and a shower after this mess. whew...

Major props to Burres for getting thru 5, and the pen as a whole (besides Parrish)

Burres was very lucky. I'm not a fan of his personally. He has to be 100% on his game to be marginally effective. If I were Sam, I would be looking to bring someone else up to take his spot in the rotation.

Yeah, I mean there are tons of young guys not injured in our farm system whor are ready for the majors right? oh wait, they got hit hard by the injury bug too.... but there are plenty available in free agency right? What? other teams have been snatching up starting pitching left and right to make up for their own injuries? NO WAY!!!! but there is always a trade right, I mean even though this early in the season we would likely have to overpay by about double in player for player value and it would likely go down as the worst trade in the history of MLB that makes it OK to go out there and get them right?

Look, we lost major starting pitching recently in like a 3 week period. We have guys that need to work their way up and not be rushed and Burress allows for that. I know he got lucky but that doesn't mean that we have that many options available to us. I don't think there is anyone available or the Yankees would already have them by now since their pitching woes happened earlier than our own.

Perlozzo should have just kept Guthrie in the game. He was shutting the Sox down. The only baserunner he had was because of an error. It was funny because as soon as they took out Guthrie, the camera's put a close up on Perlozzo. Basically saying WTF are you doing! Waiting for the inning to unravel.

It's not just one game when it comes to Perlozzo. He has missed managed a lot of games.

You should give Perlozza a thank you card for giving you this game.

This game reminds me of two years ago when Ortiz hit the game winning homerun against BJ Ryan.

There are no words...

I am glad that I had family obligations today, or else I would have broken something. I was, however, checking out the gamecast on my phone...which I had to put in the other room.

wow. One away, a pop up that should have been out 2 and a 5 run lead. mother ****er.

GOSKINS_08
May-13th-2007, 05:10 PM
Wow what a bad ****ing game..That popup should have been caught for the 2nd out..Why the hell did Perlozzo take Gutherie out? That was just plain dumb..That was the 2nd **** up..The 3rd was on Ray, he should have caught that ball, and we probably would have won, because I think Cora? would have been out.

He is the worst manager in Majors. He has f***ed Guthrie in the Cleveland series and he did it again today. Terrible managing.

Watching an O's game is like getting blasted in the head with a frying pan for 3 hours strait. I can't believe this has been going on for 10 years now. Peter Angelos is playing you peeps for fools. Instead of paying to go see the O's just pay someone $20 bucks to wack you in the head repeatedly while wearing a O's jersey. Oriole fans must love impossible challenges. Its like 9 Charlie Browns reincarnated to play baseball. Say what you what about the Nationals sucking but they WILL def get better! Go Nats!

Watching a Skins game is like getting blasted in the head with a frying pan for 3 hours strait. I can't believe this has been going on for 16 years now. Danny Snyder is playing you peeps for fools. Instead of paying to go see the Skins just pay someone $20 bucks to wack you in the head repeatedly while wearing a Clinton Portis jersey. Redskins fans must love impossible challenges. Its like 11 Charlie Browns reincarnated to play football. Say what you what about the Insert team here sucking but they WILL def get better! Go Insert team here!

You can turn the argument around for my other team.

I love my teams under the best and worst conditions. I'm sorry. :anon:

I honestly feel bad for O's fans. They have it worse then being a Redskins fan. Last time I checked Skins Made playoffs 2 years ago. This has been going on in Baltimore for 10 Years. Ouch. There is no comparison. Say what you want about Danny boy but there is no light at the end of the tunnel with Peter at the helm sorry dude. But seriously, If you wanted you could pay me that $20, I'll get that frying pan.

Big Difference between Dan and Angelos. Dan wants to win and will shell out money if need be..

Abandon all hope all ye who enter here. ~ Dante

I was just drawing a connection to the two teams that mean the most to me. I LOVE that Dan Snyder is willing to spend the money, and milk the cap, etc etc etc to try and win (although he does piss off a regular # of ticket holders and tries to sit other directly behind a pillar, et al.)

Being a die hard O's fan IS more difficult. There's no salary cap, not much for parity and my team spends 93 million on a payroll and were "cheap" compared to the 200 million and 160 million behemouths.

The best solace is that there is always a game tomorrow. The Skins lose and I'm pissed for at least 4 days. The O's lose and I can brush it off in a few hours... this loss will take me up until sometime tomorrow. But here's another game to watch... excruciating as it may be sometimes.

Now maybe this team will show its meddle and stomp the Jays and Nats. Or maybe they'll go on another 1-8 slide. I don't know. But I have tickets to 10 more games this year and I'll probably see a few more.

George Allen once talked about every loss is like dying a little and every win is being reborn. I look forward to being reborn tomorrow. Hopefully we'll be above .500 in a week.

hopefully.

The ending to the game made me sick to where I just finally brought myself to look baseball again. I didn't want to see that crap again. As far as the Sam stuff, it's all 2nd guessing. Since they didn't, it sucks.
