See that's just it, I can't even call it "Historic" RFK. RFK now isn't historic, its a dump of a stadium, at least it was when I was there last year. A lot of the seats have some obstruction of the field and it just "looks" like they put little effort if any into making the place look even clean. I don't think I will go, I think I would much rather go see the Orioles in OPACY before I go to RFK, in fact I don't think I will go to RFK ever again

Actually, my club at school helped with volutneering with the nats about their seating assingments.. They dont care as long as the seat is there and not broke.. Its a long process of fixing a seat because u have to go thru DC sports commission.. Also they only care bout season ticket holders sit in the 100s behidn home plate and near the 1st and 3rd baseball..

WOW, great assessment there buddy going to Orioles Park. Modern Stadium.. Why would u spend money on a stadium that you will be leaving in 1 yr?

Watch where you tread my friend. I don't think this is the place to be calling RFK stadium a dump with this being a Redskins site. Yes its old and outdated but I have witnessed so many great Redskins moments in that building. That place will always be special. Baseball, football, soccer, concerts whatever that place just rocks. Just because you can't afford to go to a sporting event doesn't mean you should bash the place. Go ahead, spend money on the O's by getting Mr Angelos's pockets full and watch that franchise continue to suffer. That seems like a great investment. Like a dog chasing his tail I'm just gonna sit back and watch the show:laugh: By the way the O's better save up because the Nats new palace on the river is gonna be ready next year. Cha Ching!

Nats and Skins rule!

We're better than the nats..I hate going through this because some nats fan will say "well we aren't built to win right now, so you must be bad to brag about that" or some **** like that..But I wasn't the one who said the nats will tee off on the O's..

Anyway, you mean sweep im sure..The marlins are really that much better than the royals and devil rays? Not really.

May-13th-2007, 05:18 PM
yes the marlins are much better.. They were near the wildcard hunt last year and have won multiple WS in the past 10 yrs while the orioles remain near the bottome of the league

Nats are 4-4 against the Marlins, and they would be 2-6 if it weren't for Julio.

So when is the parade down E Capital street?

But last season the marlins almost made the wildcard, so we're 2 games better than them..That means we're going to the WS right? I mean last season the marlins almost made the wildcard..Right?

They're overpriced.

Even tix on the lower level by the poles are 50 bucks. You can sit in centerfield somewhere in the atmosphere for like 7-9 and the upper deck over the foul lines is like 20 bucks.

i guess u forget the marlins were 20 games under .500 and still were better than u at the end of the season.. The orioles are going no where this year.. The marlins have better talent and will contend for a wildcard spot

No maybe you're a *******..You compare last season and think its means alot for this season..The redsox missed the playoffs last season, but you would say that they're maybe the best team in the MLB right?

Toronto is snake bitten this year. I mean, the O's have some serious injury probles, but Toronto is the winner right now. The only pitcher they have to count on is Doc and he just had an emergency apendectomy. jeez.

If the Rays offered to trade their starting lineups straight up, I'd take it in a second. They have some SERIOUS young talent and 2 very respectable starters. If their bullpen weren't of the dollar store variety and the back end of their rotation weren't garbage, they'd be a real AL East team.

The Orioles, however, have a better stocked minor league system than the Nationals, and are most likely on par with the division (besides TB, again, loaded).

No future? 3 of our 5 starting pitchers that started the season are under 30..So yeah keep up with your baseball knowledge.

I know you like to stir the pot, skinfan, but cool it please. Noo need to directly insult someone.

C'mon Goskins_08. Don't flame back. everyone cool out, ok?

Im cool..I dont need to insult someone to prove a point..Skinfan2k made a bad point and I pointed that out and then he couldn't handle it, so he had to call me a "dumass"..He may want to work on his grammar too.

Unless you find yourself one of those rare phenom guys, then yea--good starting pitching takes time. Erik Bedard was drafted in 1999. The O's had been in the playoffs 21 months before his draft day. He missed the 03 season to a TJ operation. Daniel Cabrera was a minor league free agent that same year. He needed a long time to develop and reign in his stuff. Loewen had to be in the majors by this season and he had a very solid era in 6 starts. It's a shame that he won't be pitching against till hopefully early August.

The Orioles worked on John Maine for years and he couldn't turn the corner till he was traded to the Mets. Good for the Mets, bad for us. And who knows? Maybe Guthrie (who has had 1st rd talent his whole life) will continue to pitch well and turn that same corner for us.

WOW, great assessment there buddy going to Orioles Park. Modern Stadium.. Why would u spend money on a stadium that you will be leaving in 1 yr?

I am not saying that they should have poured money into the stadium, but the stadium looks like they only clean it once a week instead of after every game. I am not saying that they needed to spend more money fixing the place up really, but it just looks... dirty.... I can't think of another word for it.

The Hostoric part that I put in is that the stadium isn't the same as it was when it was the "historic" park of the Senators. It isn't historic, in fact most minor league stadiums I have been to have looked much better, cleaner, and more efficiently run. The only thing RFK has over those parks is capacity. You don't have a good view of the field from most parts of the park, I have been in a couple major league parks and never had that problem in them, and I don't know of any where that has been a major problem like it is in RFK, unless you pay the big bucks at RFK you can't see all the action. You're right about them only caring about the season ticket holders, and I am not one of them and guess what, I am not going to go to one of the games.

As an Orioles fan I see nothing wrong with me prefering to go to see my team at their home stadium which is nice over going to see one at the opponents stadium when it is a dump, but then you being a Nats fan I can see how you can overlook the poorness of the stadium the year before your new stadium opens up, I would be able to do the same. That does not mean that any part of my analisys was inaccurate, but thank you for playing.

Part of the reason that they don't get more people showing up to the games is the quality of the stadium

Who said we've done it so well? Can you read? Im starting to question that..You said that the nats have a better future, so I pointed out that most of our starting pitchers are young..Understand now? And the O's not only have young starting pitching..They're good in the AL, while the nats have maybe 1 good young starter in the NL.
