I guess it was only a matter of time before this speculation began. Although, it did take longer than I thought.
Edited: I just actually read the article. It is only specualtion on this guys part. I thought it was actually being discussed. Misleading title.

the craziness that has happend with this organization sometimes is going to get us thrown on lists like this all the time. Never will happen.:logo:

It's just article filler. Think nothing of it. Anyone can write a piece on where they think a player might go and include the Redskins because of our owner. It's almost too easy.

I'm pretty used to the Skins being mentioned in every possible trade offer or fa pick-up - slightly misleading title, though.

I'm suprised he didn't throw the Giants and Eli into the mix. Seems like every other team is in there.

This would be a great addition to the all Redskins rumor team. He could team with Randy Moss and TO, two of the other rumors that had no merit. Yawn :yawnee:

To be realisic about: where in this scenario does it look like we would want a disgruntled qb with a surgically-repaired knee looking to start.
To your consolation, the organization is already high on Campbell's progress and may aleady have leverage with Hamlet and Palmer in 2008.

Opinion and hyperbole-- nothing more.
We have 5 QBs right now......at least 2 of them would start ahead of Culpepper.
He's not coming here.

The Giants are staying away from any injury concerns. That is why they cut the guys who they did in the offseason. Maybe he did a little homework on that one although I doubt it. I could write this stuff sitting here in the In School Suspension room.

That was entertaining. But if Peter Schrager had a logical bone in his body, he would realize how enamored Gibbs is with Brunell and know that he is not going anywhere. And he would also realize that Gibbs is committed to leaving this team with having gotten a franchise QB (Campbell) well on his way to being all that he can be with this team.
Bottomline, there's no room for Culpepper here.

6. Washington Redskins
Just because the Redskins were near silent on draft day does not mean it's been a quiet off-season in Washington. London Fletcher-Baker was brought in from Buffalo, Jason Fabini from Dallas, Fred Smoot from the Vikes, and first-round pick LaRon Landry is expected to start alongside Sean Taylor at safety. The Adam Archuletta experiment was aborted one year into its existence with a trade to Chicago as well.
But for all the activity this off-season, Daniel Snyder and Joe Gibbs were still relatively quiet compared to the last few years. Signing Culpepper would be a curious move, but one not too far-fetched for this team. Jason Campbell's the starter, Mark Brunell's still in the mix, and 2007 sixth-round pick Jordan Palmer should be on the opening day roster too. If there's any doubts as to whether Brunell's still got it, Culpepper could make for a valuable veteran addition.
Odds: It's a reach — but Snyder may want to make a big splash.

Atlanta, Vick and Culpepper in a two quarterback one runningback set. Bobby Petrino is calling it the bizarro wishbone.

Peter King was spouting off on the radio and in his column about how the giants would make sense. Supposedly the organization feels it's "50/50" that Eli turns out to be the longterm qb and, more importantly, they don't like their backups.
As usual, I'm pretty sure King was just making stuff up.

I still say New England pulls the surprise reuniting Culpepper and Moss.
Bramlet will be third on the Skins depth chart behind Campbell and Brunell. The only way Palmer makes it is as a practice squader.:2cents:

Surprised no one created a thread about this yet. Right type of player, bad timing. Next year we'll probably be in the market for a veteran backup.

in light of the mike vick dog scandal, the possibility that ATL signs culpepper is actually pretty good. if anything it adds value to your team and it keeps Vick in check.
