Just a little heads up..

Apparently Lavar is going on Doc Walker's show to give a special announcement to the Washington Area Skin Fans.

Doc announced this today on his morning show. Also stating that he is still a huge fan of Lavar.

I dont know what this moron is going to announce I hope it has nothing to do with Football. This guy is a disgrace to the sport. He had one or two good years then proceeded to play Linebacker like a pro wrestler.

Lavar was a Great player that wanted nothing more than to win. maybe one of the fastest linebackers ever, and one of the most brutal hitters we have ever seen. Marty knew how to let him loose, and just because some D coordinators are not willing to change their systems to highlight their talent doesn't mean LaVar was a disgrace.

I dont get why people hate the guy so much. You knew from day 1 he was emotional so when hes being attacked in the media whether it be justified or not he is going to get defensive. my problem with Lavar started after he left. He gave one of our playbooks to the Giants (and I gained alot of respect for them when they didn't open it and promptly returned it) and all he did while in NY was bad mouth us. If he had just left and let that be the end of it I wouldn't have a problem with him.

I hate LaVar because of all the bad mouthing he has done as soon as he left. He didn't want to go anywhere else but NFC east JUST so he could play the skins twice a year. He was threating about giving out playbooks and such. On on a side note, he was never a team player. He was an exceptional player but never a team player. It's not like we didn't want to keep him at first, but he wasn't ready to take a paycut for the team when he was struggling. Well I am kinda happy his career ended.

If you go to sports talk 980s website they have a taped interview posted on the site. He has kids screaming in the back ground and his daughter is playing with a redskins nerf football. He did mention his Sports Bar. Said he was glad he beat the skins this year but he loved the fans and only has hard feeling to a few individuals and not the whole organization. Then he started talking bout the NBA finals and i got bored an turned it off.

LaVar is a sad case. He was Mr. Redskin after DG left. He was the only reason I watched games back then. His talent was misused, and Williams has said, When LaVar is on the field, I am a better coach. I don't know, it's just sad what happened to him.

I've heard that for the sake of authenticity waiters will be instructed to server food on a "can't get right" basis. Waiters are instructed to deliberately ommit parts of the order and the managers are instructed to blame you for screwing up the order when you complain.

What happens at LA's restaurant, is that you order the food, he freelances and changes the order, then he takes a bad angle and overshoots your table, serving the food to someone else. He then blames it on Dan Snyder, and that he's had 5 different head chefs in 6 years, and you need to give him a bigger tip than the 18% automatically added that he agreed to, and then he pays you some money so that he doesn't have to serve your table anymore. Then he takes the menu to the restaurant next door so they can steal the recipes, and proceeds to be lousy at that restaurant as well, until they fire him.

Williams has said, When LaVar is on the field, I am a better coach. I don't know, it's just sad what happened to him. I'd like to see the context of this quote. I've seen it used before, particularly when LaVar Lovers still try to defend the guy in the same miserable way Ramsey loyalists defend Patrick, but I'd like to see just how and when Williams said this. I can't imagine it was meant in any other way than trying to just smooth things over and get the media off of the LaVar vs. the World issue.

listening to the show, dl'd it off 980's website.

LaVar says hes trying to get his body together, he isn't where he wants to be, long slow recovery, keeping his body together, not where he should be. not closing the door on playing, ray ray and him are close, baltimore is his first option, he had bitter feelings towards individuals in the redskins, he just had kids, just opened a restaurant, he says the redskin fans meant the world to him, restaurant is how he starts his give back process to the community. sept 25 is opening, if he doesn't get a good offer, he says he wasn't even in NY long enough to form an opinion, he says he has to talk to his wife about it, it has to be a good offer, says he has actually begun to listen to people who criticize him, he says he ignored them because he focused so hard on being the best. he's raising his kids to be Redskin fans it seems, now it's going to basketball, and i dont care anymore.

he wants to raise his kids as Redskins fans. I know he will have to sit out a year, but if he can get healthy, he definitely could fit in with the Ravens. Maybe if LA could just once, take accountability for being a distraction when he was here, or apologize for parading around in front of the camera with his stupid playbook threats, MAYBE some fans in DC would forgive him. But it's more difficult without an apology, much less an acknowledgement of wrongdoing.

Whoop de do......That was the BIG announcement?

The best thing Lavar could do is to say sorry to the Redskins fans for how it ended here (including going to NY and becoming a Giant), shut up about the organization and go on with his life.

He's got a family to raise and a new buisness to run and maybe a comeback in the future to another NFL/CFL/AFL team.... the Redskins and his history with the Skins is over when he put on that blue jersey IMO.
Lavar will not be the next John Riggins, Dexter Manley, Monk, Green or other legend who is loved here.

I was bitter about how it ended, his comments towards the team (which radiated to the fans) and Coach Gibbs. I'm also sad that he really never was a feature player with a winning team during his tenure (2005 really doesn't count since he was injured during most of it with exception to the Tampa playoff game) b/c at one point he was a great player.

But I wish Lavar the best in his future endeavors and if he plays for the Ravens and I hope he just moves on from the Skins. After this post I think I have.

I've let it go as I do feel bad about how things ended up for him. We never got to see Mike Sellers take him out as promised because he never really got to play against us like he wanted. It just didn't feel quite right when I got my "I told you so" in to a Giants fan who harassed me from the moment they signed him.

I haven't forgiven Lavar yet though as I'm still waiting for an apology. His comments about the fans are a start but that's not enough. We'll always have the end of Aikman and the Tampa playoff game, whatever the future brings.

You got it.

LaVar was vindicated with the defensive meltdown last season and the complete dysfunction of the defensive staff exposed for all to see that resulted in Lindsey being canned and yet some still love to blame LaVar. Too bad it was one season too late or perhaps LaVar would still have been here.

I wish him and his family all the best in whatever he wants to do next but I really don't think it should be football. His body is telling him enough is enough. He's had injury issues now for three straight seasons. I don't think it's worth it anymore.

Thanks for being the one consistent beacon of great play in an otherwise forgettable era of Redskin football LaVar.

Lavar's career just makes me sad. It started off so promising and then injuries and the Redskins' general lunacy just kind of killed it.

It's always a "What if?" game, but I still think that if he had been able to play his entire career in a stable environment with a defensive-minded team, he would have been a Hall of Famer. I've always thought he would have been a truly awesome 3-4 outside linebacker.

oh most definately, his athletic ability, I think he truly would have been the next LT in a 3-4. LT looked good because he was rushing from a 3-4 position.

Marty knew how to let him loose, and just because some D coordinators are not willing to change their systems to highlight their talent doesn't mean LaVar was a disgrace.

Riiiiiiiiiiiight. Marty's 2001 defense wasn't even close to GW's 2004 or 2005 D.

Players like Antonio Pierce, Marcus Washington, Cornelius Griffin, Shawn Springs, and Ryan Clark have played on other teams in other systems for other coordinators. Yet all played their best ball in Washington under Greg Williams. Seems like the "inflexibility" of Williams systems suits other players just fine. Maybe if Lavar were a little more flexible, focused, and accountable - he could have flourished too?

LaVar was vindicated with the defensive meltdown last season and the complete dysfunction of the defensive staff exposed for all to see that resulted in Lindsey being canned and yet some still love to blame LaVar. Too bad it was one season too late or perhaps LaVar would still have been here.

Absurd. One poor season and it's vindication!!!! Halelujah!!!

I could just as easily say that the Skins were vindicated when LA's Giant campaign was marked by 2 very predictable things - injury and inconsistency.

Thanks for being the one consistent beacon of great play in an otherwise forgettable era of Redskin football LaVar.

Great play? All sizzle and no steak for most of his career.

He should apologize yes. He also did put himself above the coaches and did not buy into their scheme. However, the coaches also mistreated him. It worked both ways, both sides were too egotistical. However, i agree that w/o him, our run defense suffered tremendously in 2006. Granted Holdman was just too horrible as well.

Because of that, we had to waste essentially our only draft pick last year on Rocky. I like Rocky and hope he works out.

Sorry but there wasn't a cause and effect with Lavar leaving and our run defense sucking. In 2004, our run defense was amazing (tops in the league) and he missed most of that season. The reasons behind our fall from defensive dominance are complex. There wasn't just one reason though the Lavar-worshipping simpletons try to convince people it was.

What's funny about guys complaining to the Mods about there Nazi style or whatever people call it (over analyzing), I can almost bet that its more of a jealousy that they want control. They wish they were running the site, but didn't put it together and create what ES is today. The Mods and Owners did. Instead of bashing the Mods, why not just either stay quiet or offer your opinions in a PM. I am sure they will listen to suggestions. This site makes all Redskins fans happy, so people really need to stop nitpicking.

Oh, by the way this is not a suckup, just a pure observation. I can admit I do not agree with some of what the Mods do, however, I did not create the site so who am I to complain. I still love ES to death and think overall, its the best thing on the internet for me.

I was not involved, but remembering a number of your posts, if you're against it, it must have been exactly the right move. :)

And looking at it now, it was and hardly required "over-analysis" either.

It belongs here, plain and simple.

Bad move, occido. You overanalyze the mods. :D

Jumbo, most of the time I post/posted it was about lavar and my point of view that he is a terrible linebacker, when he was with the skins and when he wasnt with the skins.

Me saying it was a bad move to move it to this forum is b/c its a local "washington d.c" radio station.. Doc Walker ("ex-redskin") advertised it as a announcement to "redskin fans" and the fact that I really dont want any other fan other than redskin fan's opinion on lavar and his crappy announcement.

and with all do respect, I am not jealous of the Mods job. Keep up the good work Jumbo, i think your the only one that hasnt banned me... more than once.

Hey, at least you got the fact that while I was jabbing at you, I wasn't all serious about it. ;)

I'm still not a nice person, though. :(

I dont get why people hate the guy so much. You knew from day 1 he was emotional so when hes being attacked in the media whether it be justified or not he is going to get defensive. It's what anyone else would do too. I like LaVar. It's a shame how his career spiraled downward. I personally hope that his life after football is a great one.

I dont think i could have put it any better! Lavar is the man!
