It's a shame that Etan doesn't put as much time into his man-to-man post defense and passing out of the post as he does to his writings. He's a pretty good writer, the same can't be said about most aspects of his game on the court.
I am all for athletes doing things outside of sports, but I get the feeling he doesn't do much work during the offseason. I always hear about Gil, Butler, Jamison, Pech, Blatche, Haywood, etc. working out down at VC, but never Etan.

Shut up Etan, work on your game.
He could be a good "basketballer" if he cared as much about his game as he does writing poetry and waxing philosophical.

I think Etan does work hard in the offseason. He comes into the season ready to ball, but then he always gets hurt. Because he is sitting on his arse for six weeks, he comes back out-of-shape and plays like crap the rest of the season.

You're totally missing the point. It's obvious you havent read his book or any of his poetry. Why dont you step up your poetry game and educates your self

I was an English major with a creative writing concentration...wrote a lot of poetry and short stories.
I've read some of his poetry and it's alright but it's nothing special, IMO. Rants about rich white people, er Republicans, Doug Collins, political crap, the war, whatever. Etan's a smart guy and yeah he's more than just a basketball player but I question his heart sometimes when it comes to playing basketball. Sometimes he shows up and plays like he cares, other times he disappears.
I agree with part of his column in response to what Bogut had to say, but he comes off as a bit holier than thou and acts like Bogut doesn't have a right to his opinion. Bogut's an outsider to this country and might have a different perspective, it's not like his opinions or thoughts aren't valid because Thomas disagrees with them.
Bogut did, however make some pretty sweeping comments. That's my main disagreement with him.
For the record, I don't have a problem with athletes speaking out against things or trying to have a social conscience, I just don't like Etan's attitude towards a lot of things.
Whatever, I just hope when the season starts Etan Thomas isn't a Wizard. I'm sure we can count on him picking another fight with Brenda

K, you must have been kidding in your first post...my sarcasm radar must be broken.
I was being nice...but yeah, his poetry is pretty bad, IMO.

yea etan uses his nba background as a platform for him to go off and do/say whatever he does........but he really is not even a basketball player considering he cant even make it thru half the season w/out an injury......etan should put the poetry books down and do away with all bs talk .......AND PLAY BASKETBALL. He sucks at that but he doesn't want to work on his game instead he rather write poems...
Here Etan is my poem for u
Etan Thomas is no good
He steals money from the wiz which makes him a hood
All we ask is that u play tough defense and get a rebound
But as usually when his size is needed he can't be found
So its back to the IR as its always the case
So etan do us a favor and leave this place!

lets trade etan/navarro for bogut, thus opening up the PT for Yi. Works for everyone, so pull the trigger

no it does not. why would milwaukee trade their no. 1 overall pick from 2 seasons ago for an overpaid backup-at-best center and for a player they don't have the cap space to sign anyway at a position they are already loaded at.

If you were making a joke, you should have just said "we should trade etan/navarro for bogut," but then you gave an explanation indicating otherwise.
