With the Bears moving Devin Hester to offense to play 15-20 snaps a game(which is way more then he played ast year on defense per game) does this make him less of a threat in the return game? Playing more will make him tired and he won't return as many kickoffs or punts as he did last year. Also him playing more will give teams to see him more on tape, maybe some corners that cover him may notice a move or two that he also uses while returning. What are your thoughts?

hes still going to be a threat, all eyes were on him returning kicks in the super bowl and he still ripped one off for a TD, hes just way too talented of a return man

he might be more tired but the tape thing is idiotic.

You can't gameplan on skills or instinct. Dude is a straight up beast.

I think he will still be a threat. He is not going to play enough on offense to get tired.

He won't get tired....he did the same thing while at Miami. Lined up as WR, RB, on offense at times. A nickel on defense and trudged back there for punts on 4th down and never missed a beat, he's a flat out monster that can make anybody miss. Bears got a good thing in him for a very long time

It's one of the things that I always thought was underappreciated about Deion Sanders was that Sanders could play full time CB at a ridiculously high level and still do returns on a ridiculously high level (and also play offense). Most good/great returners see their production slip once they crack the starting lineup and a lot of them quit doing returns once they get into the lineup.
Still, that doesn't appear to be the case with Hester. I wouldn't project him to be a great offensive player either. One of the things people mistake about Hester was just how good the blocking of his special teams unit was last season. Until opposing teams figure that out, Hester should still be a very good returner.

he wont be too tired. He is in the NFL and his body can take it. He did it at the U and it didnt affect him.

He'll still be a threat, but teams will either kick away from him or punt the ball up high sacrificing yards for hang time.

Playing more snaps on offense isn't going to diminish his awareness, prowess, and all around athletic beastliness.

He'll take back 3 or 4 this year. Not as many as last.

If anything, whatever he lacks in returns due to being tired will be made up for by him while he plays offense. If not they will obviously move him back...

Haha only 3 or 4....thats 3 or 4 more than we've had in franchise history...didnt you guys get close in the past couple years? i thought that whichever backup RB who was returning kicks took one about 80 yards once, but got chased down from behind...
and side note...do you know if squeaky, aka derek watson, is still on the practice squad? i played basketball against him in high school and with him in the off season.
