Madden 08 coming out on Aug 11 instead of Aug 14 ?

I apologize if I have posted this in the wrong section. Was wondering if anyone else had heard of this rumor. I found this article about All-Pro Football 2K8 lowering it's price to compete with Madden. Below is an excerpt from the article and the link to the full article.

"With Madden NFL 08 hustling its way into store shelves sooner than we think (August 11, mark your calendars), it's not that hard to try and guess just what these "proactive" measures Take-Two might be pulling out of its sleeves - with the most plausible one being a price cut. The commercials are everywhere with 8/14 plastered all over them. Why would EA need to bring it out early? Other than to ruin every girl's weekend????

There's no reason I could see that Madden needs to come out early. I wouldn't be surprised if stores get it a while before launch, but usually they're not legally allowed to start selling the games until the official launch date.

EDIT: Maybe this has something to do with preorders?

Being able to do that and trade away all my draft picks for over the hill veterans makes it a truly realistic Redskins experiance.

Pacman is not in the game. I don't know about the other two. Although I'm pretty sure Mike Vick is in there.
