I think Madden judged the playerws pretty fairly, I only expected Sean Taylors' to be a little higher.

I Can't wait for the season to start JC has to be our savior. JC has to be like a Keanu Reeves.

I'm really liking London Fletcher's ratings. 95 overall, 97 tackle. He'll be a force to be reckoned with.

(Lol, I like the way they arranged the list: by the postion alphabetically.)

Not thrilled about some of these ratings.

Carlos an 88? I'm not complaining but that seems pretty high... No chance he's as good as Springs when healthy.

I'm a little surprised to see Wade rated as high as an 85. That's higher than he was rated last year at his natural position.

Our WRs got DUMPED on. Santana has to be at least a 90 (and he didnt get a weapon designation either, which is crap) ARE as a 74 seems way low, he shouldnt be lower than Lloyd. And I'm a little disappointed with Thrash's 68.

I wish Jason Campbell's speed rating was higher than 69. That doesnt make him much of a dual threat.

Mike Sellers should be faster and have better hands, IMO. But he'll still be nasty as a lead blocker.

I was happy with the players they have on the roster though. Happy to see both Blades and Sartz in there.

It be interesting to find out why they gave Betts a downgrade, I think he was higher than that last year - atleast after the roster update.

Sean Taylor - Hit Power = 99
Roy Williams - Hit Power = 98
:applause::applause::applause:

Seasons over, fellas. We won!

Edit - They gave Brunell 86 throwing power ...

I love Madden, I really do. There's not a better sports simulation on Planet Earth. But looking at that spreadsheet, I have to wonder what scientific process EA has utiltized to determine Todd Yoder's throwing accuracy or Jason Campbell's pass blocking footwork ....

Some more thoughts...

Look what they did to Randle El's awareness rating to lower his overall so much. A 72! LOL

And check out Sean Taylor's catching. 82. That's higher than Randle El or Thrash and the same as Lloyd. Damn!

Rock Cartwright = 0 KR. Boooo...

Lloyd's spectacular catch = 98. Sweet.

I think it will be OK. Campbell's passing ratings are good enough (91 THP, 83 THA). Moss and Cooley are dangerous. Lloyd and Randle El's ratings are low but I think thats mainly because they pulled down their AWR and route running scores. Lloyd can makes crazy catches and ARE still has his speed and agility. Besides we can run the ball all day with Portis behind that line. I'll take it.

it was a joke calm down and learn to use the pm function.
as for the skins ratings, sellers needs to have better catching, JC always gets injured when i play and brunel can't throw the ball past the fb.

Man, EA just took a dump all over our receivers. Wow. Of course, they WERE pretty bad last year, so...

Thank God I can beat the Cowboys about 49-0 in the regular season and improve those rankings.

Will they give Rabach some more respect next year? Why is he only a 85?

Yeah really, I cant complain about any of the ratings, they look fine to me(except Wade being rated the same as Rabach). But I dont think ill be buying Madden 08 anyway, Madden just doesnt bring enough to the table to be worth buying yearly. While neat, they spend their time adding "create-a-stadium" and other frivolous stuff rather than actually fixing their gameplay.

August-7th-2007, 08:27 PM
Brandon Lloyd - pretty poor ratings overall, but a 98 for the new "spectacular catch" rating

Playing with two superb safeties, who are both very fast and heavy hitters, will be incredibly fun. I love to play a cover one and have the other safety either blitz or shadow the QB/play a soft zone in the middle and follow his reads. Landry should be a terrific upgrade over Archuleta, who only had a speed rating of 85 I think and was a liability in chasing recievers from behind. If he was beaten over the top, that was it.

Overall, this team should be pretty fun to play with. A lot of speed on offense with Portis, Moss, and Randle El, Chris Cooley should be a top pass-catching tight end, and Lloyd will be good for some "wow" catches. Our offensive line is top-notch, and Campbell has a strong arm. Although I wish he was faster in the game, at least a 75 for speed/acceleration. And a 90 for stiff arm

Moss is a "Speed" weapon, but he did get snubbed in the Quick Receiver category. No question.

For anyone interested in our "weapons", here they are...

Clinton Portis - Elusive RB
Brandon Lloyd - Spectacular Catch Receiver
Chris Samuels - Crushing Run Blocker, Pass Blocker
Jon Jansen - Crushing Run Blocker
Randy Thomas - Pass Blocker
London Fletcher - Brick Wall Defender, Smart Linebacker
Marcus Washington - Brick Wall Defender
LaRon Landry - Big Hitter
Sean Taylor - Big Hitter
Carlos Rogers - Press Coverage Corner
Santana Moss - Speed

So of course I'll be changing them to my liking

Seriously though, they arent very good ratings to me

Rogers 88 (too high)? Springs 88 as well (bit low)? Sellers 57 catching?

BoBoCTiberius
August-7th-2007, 10:26 PM
How did Sean Taylor's rating go down from last year?

Why was it necessary to make a spectacular catch rating that made Lloyd better on the game than ARE?

Why in the world do our corners look like beasts?

That being said, a pretty decent job by the Madden dudes.

I think Santana should have gotten the "Quick Receiver" also. I also think Cooley should have gotten the "Posession Receiver" or some other weapon, but oh well!

I wish Rabach and Seller were rated higher, I do not know why the aren't.

I am going to keep all ratings as is, play the full 30 years with maxed out AI and see what happens. I know one thing, I am making Smooty the starter and moving Springs to Strong Safety on passing downs. He is too slow for corner. I will try to trade him in the second franchise year.

Betts should be higher, Campbell too but not 85. Lloyd and ARE, definitely not. That's pure homerism. Lloyd is rated very accurately. 82 catching, 77 route running, 78 traffic catching and 98 spectacular catch. That's about exactly how I would rate him.

Overall, the only things I have gripes with as far as this roster are 1) Campbell should be an 83 or 84 2) Betts and Sellers should both be a little higher 3) they took WAY too much of Springs speed away. 88 is going too far. He's should still be at least a 92.

Think of it though. Yes they both had bad seasons last year. But both are still good receivers. Both are still very talented, and they are better then the madden ratings show it too. I can almost gurante atleast one of the two will have a much better season this year, just having experience in the system. I feel 70s iss't well enough. I mean Jacobs when we had him were ranked like 76. Lloyd and ARE are much better then Jacobs, yet only 2 rating points above him? They should be the low 80's.

Both have the POTENTIAL to be better than that. Neither have shown it. El's never caught more than 48 balls, never gone over 601 yards, never caught more than 3 TDs and has a career reception average of 12.2 yards. Lloyd has never had more than 48 catches, went over 600 once (738 yards) and had an absolutely abysmal season last year. Where do you expect them to be rated? They've put up career stats so far that would look bad on a TE, let alone a WR. We THINK they're better, we HOPE they're better, we know they have the potential to be better but neither of them has yet to show it. They deserve to be rated exactly how they are.
