Just looking at our roster and what we pay for our players and decided to check out some other teams.

DET
http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/detroit.htm

Rashid for 12.5
Billups for 10M
Rip for 9.7
Prince for 8.6

They arent over paying for their top talent and role players.

SA
http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/san_antonio.htm

They have a nice balanced set up with the lions share going to Duncan.

CLE
http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/cleveland.htm

They have sweet deal on LaBaby so they can afford to over pay Hughes a few mile.

Ours doenst make so much sense.

You just listed teams with guys at the beginning of their contracts, we have a bunch of guys at the end of their contracts (Jamison's we didn't even sign the contract) - no comparison in my mind.

Sweet deal on Lebron? Its a max contract no? After this year there is going to be a windfall in salary in the Wiz front office - would you rather have Laetner and Stack filling up that $$ spot than Jamison?

People see what they want to see. Most people don't look at the big picture. Like you said, after this year, Jamison's contract is off the books and I believe the Wizards will be off and running. We just have to avoid missing on guys like Etan Thomas and the contract we gave him.

Did you see what they're paying other guys like Eric Snow, Drew Gooden, Damon Jones and worst of all, Marshall?

Think Jamison would be willing to sign for less?

Jamision will still want a 3 yr 30 after hes done Who could blame him? Check out this list of players w/ higher salaries: http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries.htm

And hell, even $10 mil/year saves us $6 mil+.

BTW, who won the fantasy draft?

So you guys think he's worth $10 mil a season?...in terms of his on the court basketball abilities. I know when you bring up other people's (bad) contracts he'll look worth it. and his role on this team but is he really?

edit: as I've said many times before; I'm really looking forward to the day we can sign Jamison to a reasonable deal. I guess I want to know what a reasonable deal is

honestly when guys like caroll get like 6-7 mil to each year.. a great 6th man who was won the award, deserves at least 8 mil for being in the league this long

I did, since I was the only one that explained my team and the only one that got a vote which I think was from you. So, I have proclaimed myself champion of the Offseason GM Draft game. :D :1stplace: :adoration

Was this another Off-Season game created by skinfan2k and never finished? Same thing happened in the Mock NFL Draft once we reached the final stage.

I dont see a problem with that outside of Thomas and Daniels. I know you are a lot less excited about this team than the rest of us but you seem to be going out of your way to make your point.

This is the OUTLOOK you should be looking at when viewing the Wizards and EG's plan....

Next offseason....
So Arenas will sign a 103M/6yr deal
AJ will sign a $29M/3yr deal.....probably structured exactly like CBs last 3 years here.

And we will eventually get rid of Etan with some first rounders hopefully, or just bury him on the bench while Blatche, Hay, Pechov, AJ, Songalia get the minutes.

Just look at it this way. We sign Arenas and AJ to deals like I said above, and look at 2010/11 season,(http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/washington.htm) we will have Gil(28), CB(30), Deshawn(29), AJ(34) signed and we won't be committed to anyone else on the team really. We can get whoever, and resign whoever at that point. I like how EG manages the cap and the teams future. Its brilliant.

Because then after that season, AJ(34), CB(30), D.Stevenson(29) contracts will expire. Then we can prioritize and sign CB to a 3 year deal, and maybe Deshawn, if he has progressed. If not let them loose. By this time AJ will probably retire. We then will still have Arenas(28/29) for another 3 seasons, and we will have plenty of cap room to make the proper desicions.

So back to the 09/10 season, after that season everyones contract expires except the big 4(http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/washington.htm). EG will be able to handpick who has progressed nicely and sign accordingly between DMac, Young, Blatche, Songalia, OP and even Hay. That offseason will be interesting if we havn't signed any extensions by then. Plus we will have other draft picks to look at. The teams future is definitly bright.
