Id rather have Sheed then Webber. Webber had talent but I never trusted him come the big games.

What could have been? Here's what could have been.

PG Andre Miller

That's what could have been. All draft picks that were passed over for other players or this is what could have been.

i dont think no team in the nba could touch them 5 right now DS isn't too bad, Jamison outscored and outrebounded 'sheed (and doesn't have 'sheed's proclivity for techs), though I'll give you Big Ben (though he scored about the same as Brenda or Etan, he averaged double figures in boards).

i really hate when people do this kind of stuff. why don't you realize we couldn't have all those players? I think the original poster's intention was to make an "all-whatever" team, involving all the guy's we've given up over the years. Some of you guys are talking like we actually could have had a legendary team because we gave all these guys up. I hate to say it, but I'm glad things worked out the way they did, because had we kept just one of these guys, you never know, but it's unlikely we'd have gilbert here now.

I am too. ANd you are correct about my original intention. I too would go with Hands's team except I would have Webber as the 6th man. You are right hands. Sheed managed to win the big one. Web never could.

Now, I don't know if your bein' fecitious(?) or what but the fact that it didn't occur to you to put either Gil, Earl The Pearl, Steve Blake, AD, Juan Dixon, Rod Strickland (League leader in Assists in '97) at the PG position. Is a change of pace from the norm (which in general, isn't necessarily bad thing ...... .......

It's tough to play this game because you have to take the Butterfly Effect into play. What I mean is having certain players means we wouldn't have others. If we kept Webber and Wallace we would have been a playoff team in the East, which means no Rip Hamilton. It also means we wouldn't have been bad enough in the early 2000s to be in a position to get Kwame either, which means no Butler.

If we had a team based around Webber and Wallace in the late 90s/early 2000s we wouldn't have won any titles but we might have made it as far as the second round, maybe the Conf. Finals. I don't know if we would have been all that much better than we are now anyway.

All the guys you listed besides Blake are not guys we let go who went on to have success. I couldn't think of a PG because I was tired when I made this thread at 4 in the morning

The All-What-Will-Be Team:
pg-Arenas
sg-Butler
sf-McGuire
pf-Jamison
c-haywood (unfortunately)

Would love to see Haywood and Thomas on the court at the same time and just move Jamison to SF so we dont have a complete lack of defense at the PF but doubt that will ever happen
