View Full Version : Ferguson?

Packers say they won't keep Ferguson (6-1, 219, injury prone, 7 year vet.)and they've spoken to teams about a trade. With no legitimate #2 receiver emerging, will the Redskins be involved?

When he's not injured, Ferguson has impressed me as a good possession reciever with speed and size. I remember him fighting hard for the ball.

Am I crazy to think we might add yet another receiver to consider? Thoughts?

Guess we should cut the whole offensive line save Rabach.

His play has been declining, despite being in his prime. He has struggled with injuries the last few years and carries a $1.8M base salary. As well, he got passed by a rookie on the depth chart. This one is easy. No.

anyone on here who wants ferguson should quit watching football. he is a number 4 receiver on our team at best. probably number 5.

He cant stay healthy, so passing would seem like a better option to me.

Can we swap him for a ham sandwich and a side of baked lay's? If not...no..

If he gets cut, invite to camp for a physical and a look see. No contract until results of his visit. Keep 1 between Bradford, Pink, or Ferg. Maybe 2 if we can find a sucker for Lloyd.

I'm not impressed with him either, but I can't imagine anyone coming in being a number 4 on this team. Moss is an elite #2 receiver in this league. He is a #1 because we have noone else. ARE and Lloyd are non-factors each and every game. Considering that, I wouldn't automatically dismiss any possible candidates at WR.

To date its tough for me to think those guys are significantly better than anyone. If I'm mistaken, I'll try not to cry.:(

Well, OK, based on what? Performance? That's hard to imagine. Judged talent? Maybe, I don't know.

In his best year EVER he got just over 500 yards and 4 TDs. He has ONE reception of over 50 yards on his career.

Just move on, nothing to see here ......

Why do we have to have a discussion about every player that gets cut in this league?

(In the tone of the Disney World Commercial)...

"Furgeson, youv'e just been cut by the Green Bay Packers, where are you going?"

"I'm going to Redskin Park!" (shot fades away in slow motion with the Disney Song...)

Guess we should cut the whole offensive line save Rabach.I don't exactly agree with the Ferguson idea either. But, ol "alligator" arms was brought here for some strange reason.

I knew someone would ask this question. To quote the caveman, "I have a response; uuuuh, WHAT?"

We need a wide receiver who can catch 60 balls for 800 yards and 7 touchdowns. In four of his five years, Ferguson's production has been catches in the 20s, under 400 yards, 2-3 touchdowns, or about what our no.2 receiver did last season (minus the TDs).

No.

Funny enough Todd the Stink or the Pinkston's career numbers crush Fergusons.

why do people want to trade for Warren and Ferguson, two players that are going to be cut in any event and can then be had for nothing? :)

Why don't we have a D-league like the NBA. Snyder with his money can start it, and we'll just pool all these has-beens in it and let them duke it out for VM+I.

It doesn't seem that many are interested so I'll post this mainly as an FYI:

According to this article, Ferguson has been cut by the Packers. More interesting is this quote from the article:

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Packers had trade discussions with the Houston Texans, Washington Redskins and Buffalo Bills. Nothing materialized, with the teams balking at paying his $1.8 million base salary.
