Defense looked really good, pumped for the season. Heyer showed major strides today, and Collins had another solid game.

Rogers should have had like 2 picks, but it was made up for by the fact that Rocky McIntosh appears to be a stud linebacker.

Our safety and lb play are just too much.

Big Grif didn't start,, Fletcher was solid (no mistakes) I can already tell in 2 games QBs are not throwing any where near ST. LL made a great play.. Andre Carter Developed some serious pressure in limited time... I honestly feel this Def team wll be the best one ever fielded under G Williams.

Our 1st string defense has been amazing in these 2 preseason games! Only 6 points in almost a complete game?? (1 half in each game), that's simply amazing!

So we CAN draft. We just don't like doing it.

I forget the exact number, but the steelers 1st team offense had something like 6 or 8 goal-line plays in a row at one point and they were held to FG. Even our 2nd and 3rd string guys made a great stand at the end of the game. Last season we were giving up so many big plays that we didn't get to see many goal-line heroics, but tonight we looked sharp and you could see the frustration in the 'hard hitting' steelers when they couldn't punch it in over and over again, like they're used to doing. Rocky was all over the place in the red zone, he really did look like three guys wearing the same number. Only thing missing was an INT, but the steelers dont usually throw too much inside the 10

I found this to be extremely important. So much so, that I didn't mind the penalty that gave Pittsburgh the new set of downs. It is what will happen in the season - good chance to practice against it.

Yes, that was fantastic. Also, I think Reed Doughty (Daughty? I have no clue. Except I know how to pronounce it, unlike the announcers) really put himself ahead of Ade Jimoh in the battle for that last spot in the secondary. He was a big factor on the goal line. He and Blades were clogging holes like crazy.

That was definitely awesome. I was at the game in sec 106 near the end zone when the Steeler's 1st string had that huge bunch of chances in the red zone and we stuffed them. It really was sweet. Rocky was everywhere. This kid could be something special. Ok, we lost...however we haven't allowed a single TD in the preseason so far. That isn't too shabby. All in all, our 1st string > their 1st string on both sides. I offered the Steelers fans in front of me a compass so they could help their team find the end zone. They were good natured about it...especially after they ended up beating us anyway.

The goal line defense was simply amazing. The first string D held their starters up inside the 5 yard line for about 5 plays w/out giving up the TD. Then, later on the 3rd string D looked as sharp while not allowing the TD and just a FG.

I agree Doughty and Blades played very well in goal line stand! And Doughty seems to always be around the ball!

Thats not even possible.
His Titans defense in 2000 was the #1 defense in the league. That's the same year the Ravens defense was so good and got them a SB win. I don't see how our defense could be better than that.

Yea the D has been spectacular. Not giving up a TD is great. It's even more impressive because a lot of the times the opposing offense has had great field position. If not for the great field position, we probably wouldnt have given up so many field goals either.
