I thought he had a very good game tonight in his limited action. Don't forget he did not play last week so this is his '07 season debut and i think he performed very well. He gets ragged pretty bad on here and I felt he deserved some props for our first TD of the '07 season from Collins. There is a poster on here, whom i forget the name right now, that will have to finally change his sig. You know who you are buddy. To B. Lloyd!

Not sure if he'll do it because of a preseason game, though.

I think BL will develop into a decent receiver, I think having JC behind center allows for more opportunity for our 2nd and 3rd receivers. My prediction for BL this year is 40-50 catches-4-6 TD's...

Its a start for B Lloyd, I truely hope he breaks out this year. I really think we are going to be a major force in the NFL as long as we have a legit #2 WR.

Did anyone else hear the broadcasters say that the stats Brandon Lloyd put up last season were the worst of any starting receiver in the modern Super-Bowl era?

Ouch.

Well as his sig mentions preseason last year:

[This will remain in my signature until Brandon Lloyd catches a TD pass.] - Since preseason '06

I don't see why not.

cooley might have as many catches/td's then a lot of second receivers in the NFL, he allows for matchup problems with the defense, as long as we can get some production out of our 2nd receiver I don't see any problems

Did anyone see the post game interview with Lloyd? He said everything right, sounded focused, and i was looking for any indication of a "look at me, i scored" kind of attitude and couldnt find any. I hope he he realizes what is being asked of him now.

I heard it and just went:doh: . I doubt that trend will continue. I'm not sure exactly where he will end up this season. However he has seemed to train hard in the offseason and rededicated himself which should produce some improved results. Last year sucked all around for just about everybody on the team. I thought it was great B Lloyd scored a TD last night and wish him the best for this season. Now let's see it in the regular season and beyond!!

After All The B.s. He Pulled Last Year With Jc, Its Gonna Take More Than A Good Effort In A Preseason Game To Convince Me He's Wirth Having.

Even though is only a preseason TD it might give our 2nd reciever some confidence. Strange how Todd Collins has looked the best of our 3 QBs so far. I'd hate to admit that we might need someone like him, who can lead this 700+ Playbook, to actually win a few games.

Does that sound crazy???

Lloyd is going to have a good year this year (as long as Campbell is REALLY okay). I think that with Moss really being able to stretch the field, and Cooley woking the middle and short outs that he is so great out, Lloyd is going to get a lot of favorable matchups that will allow him to really make an impact this season. Again, this is all depending upon whether JC is able to play at his ability. :fingersx:

I think Brandon is trying his best to be a stand up guy on the field and off the field. He has great talent as a reciever and so long as he keeps a good positive attitude and a good work ethic I think he will have a career year.Of course JC being healthy all season is a major factor for the production of our recievers.

I am just hoping that TD got the monkey off his back. I was one of the folks that really wanted him here when I saw him in his last season at Frisco. Right now I am looking real small in the mob of my Skins fan mob!

I was at the game, in the end zone where B. Lloyd caught the touchdown pass. The touchdown pass to B. Lloyd was definitely a product of Al Saunder's system. It was beautiful to watch it develop. B. Lloyd begins to run what looks like a fade pattern, while C. Cooley runs an out cutting in front of B. Lloyd while he then runs a post to the back of the end zone. Collins threw the ball to an opening in the defense and not directly to B. Lloyd, but the pattern put B. Lloyd and the ball at the same spot at the same time. It was beautiful. I could not help thinking, was this a product of Collin's experience in the offense and could Jason do this, now? Collins looked really good and if B. Lloyd continues to play within the offense, I think we have our #2 receiver,

Take it easy on the "He's not worth a damn" and "Ill have to see more." Nobody on our offense had a stellar season last year. Weve seen what he can do in SF, now let's wait for it to transfer from there and the practice field to here.

Its Brandon Lloyd people, not Taylor Jacobs. Lets do it.

Decent? Man did you see that guy in SF? Its just the move to Washington and getting used to the new offense that slowed him down.

I have heard from a few sources that he might just be getting used to carrying the extra muscle mass. Some have suggested that brought on the shin splints. We really need him to step up, especially if we have to keep the TE in for pass protection. We have to have people in the patterns that can make some plays.

I am rooting for him and praying this just isn't an insignificant flash.

I predict BL will have a slow start to the season but will finish out strong. Once he wins the trust of Gibbs and Co. I won't be surprised if he finishes the year with 10+ TD's.

Ouch.

The broadcasters failed to mention the fact that last year the sidelines were Brunell's number 2 receiver. What is the common denominator regarding the fact that both Lloyd and Randle El (who were both a presence in prior offenses) suddenly became under achievers? Lloyd will be a legitimate number 2 receiver in the presence of Campbell and a well balanced offense.

I heard that, too. If that doesn't motivate the man to be a better player, I don't know what will. He made a good catch for a TD, then turned around and dropped one right after. Granted two defenders where on him, but my point is he didn't make me want to kiss his feet or praise him. Show me more.

So, he's gone from being a bum to being gary Clark in one preseason game? I give him credit for the TD but he has a long way to go to earn my trust.

He had a good game, hopefully this is just a start for him, if he becomes that legit #2 he is getting paid for and we keep everyone else healthy (big if) the team will suprise a lot of people this year.

Brandon Lloyd is ALREADY a decent receiver. and if the Redskins would protect the QB and stop running on first down with 8 men in the box and then passing on 3rd down when everybody knows they are going to pass, then maybe the receivers would have a better chance of catching more passes.

Lloyd seemed better in S.F. because they were not so conservative and they made it a point to INCLUDE him in the offense....not sporadically give him a handout throw. Lloyd is NOT the problem, its been the QB play, the playcalling, and the conservative attack.

I hope BL comes around and becomes the player he is being paid as. He already owes us a years salary plus bonuses. Otherwise, I hope he is cut by the bye. But he did look pretty good last night. Go BL!

I've arrived to clear up mild controversy.

I won't change my signature until Lloyd catches a TD pass in the regular season. The "Since preseason '06" mark in my signature simply means thats when I started using the signature, but it was always meant to mean during the regular season. I had anticipated changing it about 2-3 weeks into last season. Clearly I was wrong. :)

I like the way Lloyd looks. He's become more agile, and cool-headed. I don't see why I shouldn't be able to change my signature sometime within the first month of the season. Perhaps the first game. Gotta love how unpredictable the NFL can be.

I liked seeing him always looking for someone to block when he didn't have the ball. I think he will have a pretty good year.
