I just saw on NFL Network that Adam Schefter (sp?) is reporting that Marcus Washington will be out for 2 weeks due to his elbow injury. Thank goodness that it's only 2 weeks.
Marcus ready for the reg season baby!:)

There's a "watch now" option on Redskins.com, but nothing comes up.

Yeah, Marcus is the heart and leader of this defense. I like his intensity and the way he's always encouraging everyone else on the team. He's definitely my second favorite Redskin.

all these injuries are staged. portis said he was going to turn preseason into a spa, so he paid our stars off to fake injuries along with him to stay healthy.

I believe Marcus has more integrity and personal pride than to do something like that. He's a competitor and as long as his teammates are out there in the pre-season he'll try to be out there with them.

If it's only two weeks that would be awesome. Having Marcus along with Flecthcer, Rocky and Lamar gives us some serious linebacker depth. It's like we picked up two solid linebackers over the offseason. No more highway 57 and all that nonsense.

Its good Lemar is on the roster. The OLB is his natural spot, and has started there before.

Two weeks? For a dislocated elbow? That's it. This injury unfortunately is going to linger into the season. :helmet:

That means He'll be ready around the beginning of the season.
Lets all hope we can escape pre-season with no more serious injuries.

Great news. MW back for the season opener and the chance for guys to get experience. With the way guys are stepping up this is a win/win.

Very true. With dislocations, the tendons are still overstretched despite the joint(s) being put back in place. He'll have to have surgery on it eventually, probably after the season ends. He'll also have to wear a brace all season to keep the tendons intact.
My major concern with this is the fact that MW was going to be counted on to rush the passer. This injury could really hinder his hand-to-hand combat with blockers. As an LB, we know he is not a power rusher, but it is rare that an end can rush the passer without some sort move to shed the block.

Good there were no FRACTURES involvedin this injury, or yes there could have been a lot more lingering effects

I agree with all of this . . . It's definitely going to be an injury that will be looked at throughout the season . . . and I wouldn't be surprised if it affects his tackling and his ability to shed blockers.

Considering what happend to MW last season and the whole substance abuse situation that he went through with the league. It looks like its been a tough year and a half for MW.
I can imagine this is a tough time for MW, hopefully it doesn't mess with his intensity on the field and he puts together a productive season.

Called this last night. Actually my dad did. My dad is a radiologist and said with no other damage than just the dislocation Washington would be back up and running by week 1. Week 3 at the absolute worst.

Is surgery really necessary to fix his elbow 100%? What if they were just to give him a month off to rest, would that be enough to get his elbow back up to full strenghth? People seemed to be relieved to have MW back in time for the first regular season game, but I'd much rather not have him back until a little later if it meant he'd be at 100% as opposed to playing the whole year with a bum elbow.

There was and it lasted every bit of five and a half minutes on redskins.com. I started it at 6:07 and it was over by 6:10.
edit*
Gibbs basically discussed the injuries and said we look OK there and that we'll just have to take it day to day(surprise, surprise!). Then made one comment on how he hasn't watched the defensive film but there "were some good things" on offense and special teams. Went on to talk about how the other coaches were excited about McIntosh. That's it-it was very short.

Lemar is weakside LB though.. i don't know if he has the bulk to play the strong side.. maybe he is still thick from his MLB days..

Wow! I'm very glad to hear that Washington is ok. It sure didn't look good when the medical team was holding his arm and escorting him to the locker room last night. I thought for sure he was out 8-10 wks. Very good news indeed.

Guys, If MW goes down, Marshall does not replace him. Campbell does, and Marshall is a backup to Fletcher.

Absolutely zero chance. Campbell is a special teams player. A good one, but still a special teams player.
My guess would be Rocky shifts to the strongside and Marshall plays on the weakside.
