View Full Version : Fantasy Scoring - What do you think?

I'm in a league, where they have the FGs giving you the following points:

Made FGs
0-39 yards = +3
40-50 yards = +4
50+ yards = +5

Missed FGs
0-39 yards = -3
40-50 yards = -4
50+ yards = -5
Total missed FGs = -1

Do you agree with this, the commish is being a jerk because we voted on the same scoring last year and he claims this was the default of ESPN. We pointed out that last year we had zero points for missed FGs. I got -6 points because Wilkins missed a 56 yard attempt for the game winner :soapbox:

I think the minus field goal points are retarded. It's not like you get minus points for incomplete passes or not converting on 3rd/4th down. I think it's especially stupid to lose points if the kicker is brought in for a 55yd FG with 3 seconds left in the half just on the offchance he makes it.

i agree....i don't like the negative points. That's kinda wack man, i'd keep bitching about it till the commish does something. Someone else will get screwed eventually.

in one league I'm in, we do negative points for kickers (and defenses) but we do it exactly opposite of yours.

0-20.....-5
21-30....-3

That way if your kicker/ST blows what should be gimme, you get penalized. Why the hell would you lose more points for trying a harder kick?

I was going to say the same thing. This makes MUCH more sense.

I am the comish of my Keeper League on ESPN

the only negative points we get is for a 0-39 field goal, and I think that is either -2 or -3

Seriously, if you're going to have negative points for missed field goals, you need to be penalized LESS, not MORE, for a longer kick attempt. Your commissioner is being a moron, and I'd call him on the ESPN default scoring thing, that's a flat out bunch of ****. I'd consider dropping out of that league in favor of another one.
