DAVIE, Fla. — Plagued in recent seasons by quarterback woes and a sputtering running game, the Miami Dolphins finally have an offense to match their defense.

The defense has been that bad.

For the third game in a row, the Dolphins' once-stout defense failed to protect a lead Sunday and faded in the second half. A 31-28 loss to the New York Jets left Miami 0-3 for only the second time since 1969.

"We've got a classic case of our strength becoming our weakness," coach Cam Cameron said Monday. "What I mean is we have guys who are trying to do too much. It can lead to mistakes and things that crop up at inopportune times."

That's one theory. Another is that the defense has simply become too old. Tackle Keith Traylor is 38, middle linebacker Zach Thomas is 34, end Jason Taylor is 33, tackle Vonnie Holliday is 31 and linebacker Joey Porter is 30.

Thomas sat out Sunday because of a concussion, and his availability for this week's game against Oakland is uncertain. None of the other 30-somethings distinguished themselves against the Jets.

Oakland brings to Miami a strong running game and quarterback Daunte Culpepper, a washout with the Dolphins before Cameron released him in July. Culpepper relieved an injured Josh McCown to lead the Raiders (1-2) to their first win Sunday against Cleveland.

The Dolphins defense ranked among the NFL's top 10 in eight of the past nine seasons. It's galling for Miami fans that this year's decline coincides with signs of long-sought offensive improvement.

On Sunday, Trent Green threw for 318 yards, and third-year running back Ronnie Brown had his best all-around day in the NFL, with 112 yards rushing and 99 receiving.

Who else to post this other than you? And let me guess, this is just about the Dolphins, not that the Cowboys whooped up on their defense(and offense)? But it has to be, because the Skins beat them as well(even though it was only by 3 points).

I really don't feel like how counting how many you've replied to or how many TR1 has posted. If it seems like he's the only who posts these articles, it's because he does post a majority of the articles relating to other teams. He does a very good job of keeping Skins fans (and everyone else that hangs out in the Around the NFL forum) informed about the goings on around the league.

Your response to the original post, along with your responses to my posts, pretty much indicate your obsession with TR1's post(s).

TR1 posts an informative article about the Dolphins and the first thing out of your mouth is a bunch of crying about "only you would post this, TR1, wah wah." Then somebody calls you out on it and you get super sensitive about it with your "who? me? obsessed? I'm not obsessed" routine. I think you've pretty much demonstrated your obsession in this thread alone.

 Poor little Redskin! Did ya ever think the reason I reply to his posts are because they are mostly about the Cowboys? The reason I made my original post was due to the fact that after we played teams he makes excuses about them(i.e. this thread: http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213526), which is why I accused him of the same with this thread.

So now you're saying you do respond to his posts, but yet you're not obsessed? I think you've lost everyone at this point.

I'll say it one more time, hopefully it gets processed this time. TR1 makes posts about a number of different teams, many of which are teams that have not played the Pukes this year. What about this do you not understand?

Oh, so now I do but not as few as I think? Actually when I say, "how many have a replied to compared to how many he posts," doesn't imply that I don't respond to many if you know how many he posts. Care to keep going?

Do you even know what you're saying? What you just said, "doesn't imply that I don't," is a double negative and actually means, "does imply that I do." So basically you just said that your own statement implies that you DO respond to many of TR1's posts. Thanks for proving my point. That was fun.

Now I know what TR1 meant with that comment about Texas education.

Are you an English teacher now? I said that what I stated does not imply that I do not respond to many of his posts, if you know how many he does post. How do you not understand that? I'm not an English teacher, but it's difficult to decipher what you're trying to say when you can't put a sentence together properly. I think it's safe to say that what you said makes no sense to anyone but yourself. Come on, tell the truth, you aren't really 22, are you?

What we do know is that you respond to TR1's posts about other teams (self-admittedly on more than one occasion), cry about them somehow being related to Pukes, then cry some more when someone calls you obsessed. If you can't handle it, then perhaps you should take TR1's post for what it was (an article about another team) rather than throwing a hissy fit and claiming it had to do with the Pukes. Believe it or not, we do have more to talk about here than the Pukes.

Is there where you call me "poor little Redskin?"

The Skins offense is not as good as its defense.

The Miami defense is bad...

So far, the pukes have beaten three bad defensive teams.

Just sayin'.

This doesn't bode well for you based on what I saw at Fed Ex Sunday. :D

Bubba told me they were a top 5 defense from last year led by the reigning DPOY though?

So far, the pukes have beaten three bad defensive teams.

Just sayin'.

Dallas is the highest scoring team and the #2 offense in the league. They are making GREAT defenses look average to poor and average defenses look abysmal. Keep running!

They haven't played a GREAT defense...all the stats and records of those teams confirm that.

Stop making stuff up.

I'll go with that. They are beating teams they are supposed to beat.

All this with a new Coach, new scheme, arguably their best offensive, and their two best defensive weapons out.

Sounds like a team that will only get better. Once they really implement the scheme, and get their players healthy.
