The Rams' secondary finally is getting close to full attendance.
Fakhir Brown will return next week from his four-game suspension for violating
the NFL's substance-abuse policy, and Tye Hill's return might be close behind.
They were the starting cornerbacks last year.
Hill will miss his third game in a row Sunday, when the Rams travel to Dallas,
after suffering broken bones in his lower back. But his rehab is progressing
rapidly, and Hill isn't ruling himself out for the Arizona game Oct. 7 at
Edward Jones Dome.
"I'm feeling a whole lot better; the pain is coming down," Hill said Friday. "I
worked out pretty good all week. Hopefully I can do something next week."
By do something, he means get back on the practice field. Hill admitted he was
getting antsy.
"It's been tough," he said. "I'm not used to sitting on the sideline and just
watching. I haven't done that since high school."
Still, coach Scott Linehan said Hill's projection might be a bit optimistic.
"If he feels decent next week, we'll get him some work," Linehan said.
"Logically, from where he is, after the Arizona game would be realistic. But I
don't want to count Arizona out."
INJURY UPDATE
After another week in which he was unable to participate in "team" drills,
right guard Richie Incognito is almost sure to be on the sideline again Sunday.
Incognito, who has been nursing a high-ankle sprain since mid-August, was
"doubtful" on Friday's injury report. Claude Terrell would start in his place.
Listed as "probable" were quarterback Marc Bulger (ribs), defensive end James
Hall (pectoral), linebacker Tim McGarigle (groin) and linebacker Pisa
Tinoisamoa (ankle). Hill and running back Steven Jackson (groin) are out.
RAM-BLINGS
After three catches Sunday at Tampa Bay, Isaac Bruce has a career total of 901
— more than any of the 10 wide receivers in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
— The Rams are allowing 10.7 points a game. The Cowboys are averaging 38.7,
first in the league.
— The Rams have yet to finish a game this season with the same lineup on the
offensive line that started the game.
