I am a long time Redskins fan from San Diego and I've never seen the 'Skins play at FedEx....although I wished they were still at RFK but that's another story.

Anyway, I finally have a chance to go to DC in a couple of weeks and watch my Redskins take on the Arizona Cardinals!:applause:

I need advice from you fine folks here in ES...if you were me:

Where would you buy a ticket? What's the best section to watch the 'Skins play at FedEx?

Any advice will be highly appreciated!

Thanks DButz! I actually did post a "want ad" looking for a ticket already...is there a good section in FedEx you'd recommend I buy to see the game?

The best place to buy a ticket is whoever has the one you want for the price you want. :-)

Prolly best to just settle on eBay and nail one down the week before the game. Don't worry, you'll find one.

Best section -- that depends on you. Opinions vary. Do you want an emotional game? Then try to get close to the field. A spiriting game? Lower level. An analytical game? Upper deck. A wine and dine game? Club or Loge.

Have fun

Thanks Mark! Good point on where to buy the ticket! :D

Being that this will probably be the only chance I get in my lifetime to watch the 'Skins play at home, I'd love to see them up close. In your opinion, which section would be best for that?

personally, if its your first experience, i would say to go for lower level..... and watch out for tickets with 'obstructed views'

Thanks Renegade! When you say "obstructed views", do you mean obstructed by players?

BTW, I love your sig!!!

Try again. Snyder installed some seats underneath the club lever over hang. Some have massive cement pillars infront of them. Others you cant see high passes or punts due to the overhang. If you buy something on the lower level make sure its row 15 or closer.

A good section to be in is 142 or 101. both are on the redskins sidelines and are around the mid field line. Enjoy the game, ill be there in section 452(upper level).

Brace yourself, FedEx leaves a lot to be desired. Be sure to get a parking pass with your ticket/s. Ebay is a good place to look. Try to find auctions ending at obscure times, you can usually save some $$ that way.

See you there.

btw dont be afraid to try the ticket office. I am still getting emails about available tickets for this weeks game.

Lower level (Section starting with a 1) Redskins side of the field. Find the closest seats you can get.

You guys rock! Thanks for the info....

Does anybody know what the prices are going for tickets in the 100 sections ('Skins side)?

Why the parking pass? Is this "pass" to park closer to the stadium or do all parking spaces need a "parking pass"? Could I get by without having one? I do not mind walking...

As far as parking goes, DO NOT GET A PARKING PASS unless you can get one for face value of 35 bucks, which will be next to impossible to do.

Park in the Tailgate Lot, this is a cash lot not operated by the Redskins and is a 10 minute walk to the stadium.

Take exit 17 off of 495 to route 202 west, make your second left onto Barlowe Rd. and follow the flag men. This parking lot cost you 20 bucks and you do NOT need any pass, just show up and pay. You can tailgate in this lot if you want or walk to the extremeskins tailgate also about 5-10 minute walk.

I parked there for the Giants game and it was great. None of my money going to Dan Snyder and I didnt have to worry about a parking pass.

You can take a train in. But seriously if your going to one of the few home games ever...Tail gate baby. Find the DTC (Dead Tree Crew) and get your pic taken with the mayor of FEDEX. Make it your whole day get there as early as possible and go all out. Get a green or orange and sit in rows 4-10 in the lower level...between the 40's on both sides. Make sure you got food for before and after the game in your car, getting out of the parking is terrible so we usually just chill out and have dessert afterward and either ***** and moan a loss or talk how 'this is the year' when they win...

Have fun dude, I live in SD when we played the super bowel there back in the day. it was my first whole game I remember...

Excellent! This is the type of info I need...I will be travelling solo so I'd love to make it a whole day type of experience...I don't have to worry 'bout the wife getting on my case. :D

When you say get a "green or orange", what do you mean?

The parking situation at Fed Ex is a little confusing to someone who is not familiar with the Skins and Fed Ex field. The parking lots around Fed Ex Field are seperated into Colors. Red, Green, Orange, and Purple. Passes to those lots are only sold to season tickets holders for 35 bucks each. Season ticket holders then turn around and sell them for atleast 50 or 60 bucks a piece and sometimes more.

The only other option (sanctioned by the Redskins) is to park in the Cash lots where the Capital Center used to be I believe this costs 20 or 25 bucks. the problem with this is that you have to take a metro bus from those lots to the stadium. Its a big pain in the butt. Dont do it.

Or you could take the train/metro in and walk from Morgan BLVD metro station to the stadium. 15-20 min walk.

THE BEST OPTION IS THIS.
Drive yourself - take 495 to exit 17 route 202 west. Turn Left on Barlowe Rd then make your immediate left into what is call the "Tailgate Lot". There is a large sign off of 202 and there are flag men on Barlowe rd directing you. This parking lot is within walking distance to the stadium, maybe a 10 minute walk. There are Don Johns, and you can tailgate there. Or if you are heading over to the extremeskins tailgate its only about a 5 minute walk to where they tailgate.

This parking lot is 20 bucks and you DO NOT need any passes. Just show up, pay, and park. Trust me this is the way to go. Unless you want to spend 50 or 60 bucks on a colored parking pass.

Thanks Skinsbaby...I really do appreciate the time you have taken to reply to my post. I will have a rental car so the option of driving myself to the "tailgate lot" sounds like the best bet for me.

Is there a place you rcommend in town where I can purchase a Darrell Green jersey?

Thanks again! HTTR!!!

I'm from Mississippi, and my wife and I came up for the Giants game. We stayed at the Comfort Inn on Hampton Park Blvd which is just off 495. The morning of the game we drove to the Metro station (Morgan Blvd, I believe)and parked (it cost us $25). We rode the train into town to see some sights and were back to the metro station by 2:00 (It was a 4:15 game). We walked to the stadium. It wasn't bad at all. After the game we had no problems getting out of the metro station parking and back to the hotel. Very convenient if you don't mind a little walking.

I bought my tickets on Stub Hub.

How was your experience buying tickets from Stub Hub? Good, bad?

Thanks!
