If the Redskins move back into the city, as has been rumored, does the inflated real estate values in the city move them up or down in value among American sports franchises?

I have heard they they would renovate RFK, but how can you make RFK a 90,000 seat stadium? I don't think its possible. Then what would happen to the fans that had been on the ticket waiting list for so many years and just got tickets when the team moved to Jack Kent Cooke Stadium?

Just wondering?

I dont think location would increase or decrease the value of the "team" or franchise, maybe just the land the stadium is on ... casue if anyone ever ended up buying the land, they would more than likely tear the stadium down, dont ya think? I mean who else has use for a sports stadium , besides a sports team? Look at what happened to the old Cap Center...

Get my point? :silly:

And RFK will never be remodeled, it would be a PITA, plus the structure is old, Danny boy wouldnt want something outdated

the rumors are not to renovate... they say that RFK will be torn down, and they will build a completely new stadium

i'd prefer if we went back down to 60k seats, and had an imposing and louder place like RFK. something that really gives us homefield advantage. Fedex doesn't hold a candle to RFK. more crowd does not mean more loud.

with fewer seats, Snyder could and would charge more per, but he might lose value on the ridiculous cash lots. though i could see him buying every store and bar surrounding the stadium and charging $8 a beer, $12 for a burger and fries, extra $2.50 for cheeseburger, etc. he is the ultimate gouger, he would make it work.

Remember that part of the current Redskins' value is FedEx Field. Snyder bought it with the team.

No one can buy the land that RFK is on. No one can own land in the District.
He can own the stadium, but imminent domain is always in effect in D.C.

Hence, the question. If he moves from land and a stadium that he outright owns to an agreed upon location that is partially owned by DC, would that decrease the value of the team, whether the stadium was renovated or rebuilt?
