90% of ESers hate him but maybe it's time he got more looks. He seemed to me that he was into it even though he wasn't on the field much. He has talent. If his attitude is right he can still earn the big bucks we shelled out for him.

You talking about the one in which he injured his chest? I'd say that's a tough catch no matter who the player is.

That's funny because JC overthrew him on an easy TD pass, we must not be talking about the same play though because on the play I'm talking about it wasn't a drop. If he caught this board would be going crazy "another amazing catch by Brandon." If he doesn't catch it "Brandon dropped another easy pass."

Drop? That's a pretty harsh characterization. He laid flat out at full speed and was just barely able to get his hands on the ball. If he had somehow managed to catch it it would have been a GREAT reception.
Maybe a preconceived bias against Lloyd colors how you viewed that play.

He didnt drop the ball, it was overthrown, dude was completely horizontal in mid air going for that ball, it wasnt his fault, JC overthrew him a bit
But then again you look at Lloyd's highlights and claim to fame in SF, and THOSE are types of balls he would reel in

Brandon Lloyd was also open downfield on a play earlier in the game, but Campbell was under too much pressure to throw the ball downfield.

You guys crack me up. Even the best receivers make that catch MAYBE 10% of the time. Lloyd was running full speed and laid out completely horizontal for the ball. He was giving 100% effort. I doubt any of our other receivers would have caught it.

 If you think that was a drop and not an overthrown ball.........I don't know how to explain it to you.
From what I've seen lately, Lloyd has looked good and he's been trying. Campbell's long ball is too flat. If he just put a little air under that throw, that would have been a sure TD pass.

Putting him in for like 2 plays a game is not getting his shot. From what I've seen in the game, Lloyd has been trying. It's unbelievable that anybody would think 1 or 2 pass attempts a game is called "getting his shot", especially to a guy who's being paid $5 million a season.

There was another play as well where they showed replay, Campbell got pressured and sacked but Lloyd had one-on-one coverage and beat the defender on a deep post but Campbell had too much pressure to get the ball to him.

i tell you the truth when it comes to rogers and lloyd, i really think some people really want them to fail and actually get a woody if they make a bad play. In this case it was made up. The ball was overthrown and I saw lloyd consoling moss after his fumble.

i also noticed that towards the end of the game when I offense was on the field, lloyd was in the huddle jumping up and down and looked like he was trying to rally the troop...i hope we see him a little more, mainly because I want to see him get some more looks to be sure before the team just writes him off and dumps him.

he was in more than that , sorry but when you got the attitude he has about the game and put forth little effort in practice then you only get a few shots in the game , if you can't make themost of them then why should you get more? we have WRs that give 100% in practice and in games and they usually produce , today it wasnt so , if Lloyd puts in 100% in practice then he will get more shots
*edit* oh and the contract has nothing to do with the playing time , we also paid a high dollar safety to ride the bench last year ~

I've seen Lloyd hustling, running full out on patterns, and blocking well. I think he realizes his chances are running out, and he's playing like he knows it.

Steve Smith is also faster than B Lloyd. But that is beside the point.
Lloyd was in on several plays today, more than usual. He made an awesome effort for that ball and was fully extended for it. It was a tad overthrown...end of story on that paly.

No one is saying Lloyd is a #1. But it was a great try for him - he dove and gave it all he had. It's too bad - he's been close on a few. I would like to see him play more and Thrash less. I know Thrash's effort is awesome and all, but he has no vertical speed whatsoever.
I think if we just rotated Keenan McCardell and Lloyd at #3 (depending on the pattern), and let ARE and Moss start, that would be some decent talent out there playing.

I absolutely HATED the Lloyd trade when it happened, and it still managed to turn out much worse than I expected.
Still, 'when life gives you lemons...' etc. Llyod does have talent and seems to be trying pretty hard. I'd like to see him be given more of a shot.

Just finished watching the boys being handed their ***** to them by the pats. And yet I can't help think we are just about the only team in the NFC which we can compete if we can hold on to the dam ball because of our D. Lloyd could be the answer if given a fair chance. Whatever the coaches need to do tw
hey must do to get him ready to play. We need some 3 and 4 WRs sets and Lloyd could be the one that gets going. He did it before and today he showed he wants to give it a shot. Honestly can anyone of us say Moss is the answer right now? It is not just this game but the entire season. Maybe he is hurt, maybe its the way Campbell throws the ball and Moss has not had the type of practice others have. Lloyd and JC have practice. Damm it we have a chance. We have the QB and the best D in the NFC at least. Two weeks in a row our D shut down the number one passing offenses in the league. We need to use everything we have and push through this. Lloyd is part of the team last time I checked.
And for those you said he should have caught that ball you are dreaming. It is a miracle he almost caught it let along get his hands on it.

Lloyd will be given a chance, and when he does he'll step up....I have faith!
He was wide open today...reminded me of, oh, about ALL of last year. He runs the same post and sideline routes (kind of as per JLC's rant) and is constantly in front of the defender.
Here's to seeing JC connect with Lloyd on those deep routes in the weeks to come...

He was targeted twice today. He caught the 1st ball but the catch was negated due to an offensive penalty. The 2nd was the deep ball that was overthrown.
He wasn't in much today, but I did see him open on at least two other plays, one a deep post.
I'm sure he'll continue to get more pt as the season progresses.

BRANDON LLOYD! I know the board is gonna get all over me for this but who cares after some of the posts i saw today whatever. Well anyways a lot of u guys are blaming him for not catching that ball it was slightly overthrown a diving catch and raining...from what ive seen when hes in campbell does look for him and he is able to create seperation. If you want to call him a baby and a quitter go ahead, I seriously doubt he got to the NFL and got the attention of our scouts by being a quitter

i just dont understand how fans on this board would want a player on the team to be isolated and a scapegoat...

That sure TD pass was just a tad long. And just in case you misunderstand my point, it was uncatchable for any receiver without some stick-em on his gloves. Jason didn't get enough air under that one, as it was about 2 or 3 inches too long.
Moss is the one that has been dropping passes, today and all season. He is the new 50/50, this year. One of Moss' many drops resulted in an interception, and then his fumble cost us the game, after it was returned for the winning touchdown. And whether you guys like it or not, he needs to be benched in my opinion, and Lloyd needs to come in for more than just a couple of plays.

Your right about none of the other recievers being able to catch that ball they were all dropping passes. I wish Lloyd could have hauled that one in though it would have done wonders for his confidence and I think he would have been awarded more time on the field heck he would have been the hero of the game.

Your wrong, he was thrown to three times. He caught one ball, but it got taken back because of a formation penalty. the other two balls could be put on campbell not being on target (throwing behind lloyd on one) as I recall.
Lloyd is starting to show a bit more fire, I say we get him rotating in early in the first half against the cards and try to key to him a bit more.

I've been very critical of Lloyd in the past. But no way was that catch easy. He was fully extended and even if he had managed to hold onto it, would have probably lost it when he hit the ground.
The only thing about that pass is that JC needs to get those long bombs under control. He's overthrown quite a few of them and needs to be actively working on it.
