View Full Version : KDawg's Top 5 Teams in the NFL

1. New England Patriots
2. Indianapolis Colts
3. Pittsburgh Steelers
4. Jacksonville Jaguars
5. San Diego Chargers (Yeah, they've struggled, but now that LT is alive again, they should be dangerous.)
If you notice, the top 5 (for me) is AFC.
I think the NFC cream of the crop is: Dallas, Green Bay, New York, Tampa Bay and Washington, but they all fall behind those five teams right now. I honestly think Dallas could crack the top 5 easiest of the 5 NFC teams, but they all have a shot to get in there.
I realize San Diego is a strange pick, so I understand any issues taken with it. I can already see the posts by Dallas fans claiming I don't know what I'm talking about. I just think San Diego is back, despite Norv, obviously not because of him. Granted, they played Oakland, but if they continue to feature LT they will continue to be dangerous the rest of the way.
#4 Jacksonville... 2nd stingiest defense in the NFL. 58 points allowed. Their offense isn't fantastic by any means, but it doesn't need to be.
Pittsburgh? 48 points allowed.

It us Skins fans that are going to tell you you don't know what you're talking about regarding San Diego. These rankings are fair, though, considering where everyone stands right now and I agree, except for San Diego. I just can't trust Norv, ever. For someone not aware of Norv's inate ability to suck, this is a spot-on assessment, but I think we'll all see what kind of influence he has in about 6 more weeks when SD is 6-6 or 5-7.

I don't know where you got the idea that I'm not aware of Norv's ability to suck. I'm painfully aware of it, for entirely too many years in Washington. As I said, I believe they're dangerous in spite of Norv, not because of him. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to make that team a contender... Give the ball to Gates and Tomlinson. A monkey could do it. Norv isn't quite as intelligent as a primate, but I think even he can manage that task.

Dude, I agree 100% with this top 5. And Dallas does not match up and/or beat any of those teams right now, except maybe Pitt. I have the 5 in a slightly different order (and you are on with SD no matter what anyone says...that team is damn good and will be in it all the way till the end)
1 NE
2 INDY
3 SD
4 JAX
5 PITT

You give him WAY too much credit.

Hey, it could happen, but I would be more surprised if it did than if it didn't. Norv is a cancer, the symptoms worsen with time.

I may, and I'm not the type of person to run and hide when I'm wrong. And I can see them going the wrong way again, because of Norv. I just think Tomlinson is too good to let that happen.

I don't know why everyone is trying to make the AFC out to be so much better than the NFC. After N.E. and Indy it's anyone's game. Not only can no one in the NFC beat the Patriots right now but none of those AFC teams stand a chance either. I don't have a problem with your top 5 but it's not as if the NFC has nothing. The Packers beat S.D. already this year and Pitt lost to the Cards. After N.E. and maybe Indy, none of those AFC teams look better than the top NFC teams.

LT is a beast, no doubt there. Like you said above, any SD success this year will be in spite of Norv, not because of him.

I agree. After NE and Indy, those other teams can be beat. Who has SD beat and Pitt did get beat by the frickin Cards.
KD, I hate Dallas also, but you made this list just to slap Dallas.

All Norv has to do is not interfere with that team. The team is talented enough to win 13 games without him(not saying they are going to win on out from here).

Uhh, no, I didn't.
As I said, Dallas is the team I think can get in that top 5 faster than anyone else.

I can't even believe the Giants are being considered a top NFC team after what happened the first two weeks. I thought football season was over after the second week. No matter how much I think I know about football, I'm glad I don't know as much as I thought. :D

Tom,
The Giants look really, really good.
And despite what most people are saying, I think Eli is a damned good quarterback.
