I give Dallas the edge just because of the head to head match up in week 1 in which Dallas basically outgunned the Giants. It might have gone differently if so many Giants didn't initially get hurt in that game, especially Manning. But you still have to give Dallas the edge in a power ranking for that. Not to mention the Giants were destroyed by GB a week later as they were equally hobbled. They will have their chance to grab the top spot soon enough.
Can I be cliche and say that GB is one of the worst 5-1 teams of all time? But someone has to knock them off the mantle first. They haven't gotten beat bad by anyone.

Frankly-our next meeting at the Meadowlands scares me-Madison didn't play b/c of injury, Strahan wasn't in game shape, and Ross wasn't in the lineup either-result, we torched them all over the place.
Now Madison is healthy and in full game shape(ditto Strahan), and Ross is proving every bit the blue-chip corner he was hyped up to be.
This team is going to be very dangerous from here on out. BTW-Tiki's not wrecking their locker room anymore.

But keep in mind Dallas will have both Newman and Henry for that one as well as Tank Johnson.
And possibly Terry Glenn.

best of the NFC, but 2nd best in the NFL, I think the AFC South With INDY, JAX, Tenn and Houston is tops in the NFL, the worst division is the AFC East...with the NFC west right behind. The AFC East with Buff, Miami and the Jets...is pathetic, but the Pats being the best team in the NFL it saves the divison a bit, but i still say its the worst.......even worse then the NFC West.....
Back to the NFC East, its a tough division this year and right now with a gun to my head, i'd have to pick the Giants to win it and both Washington and Dallas making the Wild Card.

exactly right, and although it was early in the season (weeks 1 and 2) and I would agree that the Giants are "playing" a little better then both Dallas and the Pack, but the fact is, the Cowboys and the Packers (like you said) did beat the Giants.
The Giants do scare me though, the Giants now have a sick pass rush and their corners, including the stud rookie (Ross) are playing great ball......
If Dallas can just win 1 of their next 3 games....yes, i mean just go 1-2 in the next 3 games they would be 7-3 ith T-Giving vs the Jets and home to the Packers. They could be 9-3 going down to their toughest stretch of the season playing 3 of 4 on the road including the last game of the Season vs the skins....that game will be in all reality a playoff game here in Washington. I might just give my tickets away, I am not real sure i want to be in FEDEX for that game with my Dallas jersey on, that could be dangerous!

no, the Packers beat the Skins, unless i am mistaken, but i swore the packers just beat them a week ago?
If the Skins haveta go to G.B in the playoffs it could be a very hard fought game, but if the game is in Washington i see the Skins winning it by 10.
You have to be able to run the ball come December and then later the Post Season....and thats something that G.B just cant and most likely wont be able to do.....especially vs the skins defense.

The Giants beat Atlanta, SF, the Jets, Philly, and Washington.
Washington is the only quality win.
They lost to Dallas and GB.
People like to talk about the cupcake schedule Dallas has played? The Giants beat one team with a winning record. And lost to the other two.

You could say that about the Cowboys, Patriots, or any other winning team etc. You can't play a first place team every week.
The difference is, the Giants are DOMINATING there opponents on both sides of the ball. The Cowboys are barely squeaking away wins, see Buffalo. Hell, 2 of there wins came against an 0-7 Rams team and an 0-7 Miami team.
49ers and Falcons, albeit not good teams, certainly provide much more of a challenge than the aformentioned.

maybe, but to keep me from being a total homer, I have it a tie, and besides, The packers also beat NY and they beat the Skins (who are a NFC top 5 team)
Funny how the biggest complaints are NY and Washington "should" both be ahead of G.B yet G.B beat them both :whoknows:

Cowboys are tops until someone in this conference beats them. GB is 2nd obviously, but when it comes playoff time they are screwed, no run game. Washington needs to get some offense going and fast. The giants need to prove they aren't just a product of their schedule and can stand up to injuries (they will beat miami, go to the bye and the injuries will hit in the next game). I see arizona and detroit screwing up, i just don't believe they have what it takes, but thats just me.

I agree with you on the Packers and i have made that point about the running game many times.....
BUT...If Washington beats NE, the TRPB week 8 rankings will have the skins #1. Thats a fact! They will jump all three teams in front of them. If they beat NE in NE, then they will be at that time, the best team in the Conference!

I dissagree about the South. ATL is a horrible team, but the Saints "aint" done yet, and Tampa is playing pretty well, especially on Def. and Garcia, i dont think he has thrown a pick yet this year?? They are well coached and play good Defense. Panthers may be 4-2, but i do not think they are that good, they will not finish on top or even 2nd in the division. Tampa-1 Saints-2 and Carolina-3
West is bad. 49ers had a hot start, but now look pittyfull. Zona is a decent team but can only go so far with the QB situation. The Rams may be the worst team in the NFL and Seattle at 4-3 is the best team in the division, and they just lost to Nawlens two weeks ago!

What you mean the Giants will suddenly have 15 + injuries against Dallas?
Being they've stayed relatively healthy for the first time in years, that's what it will take for them to match years previous.

Be realistic. The loss of arrington was not a huge deal, its when our giants lost strahan, osi , tuck, pierce, short, madison, petitgout etc. that things went down hill. This year the giants have lost william joseph to IR, he was set to be the 3rd DT / 5th DE, jacobs, ward, madison, butler, smith, etc.. will all play again this year so its not like they have been hit hard yet. If the giants lose say mackenzie or diehl the offense is pretty screwed up imo, or even if Snee went down we would be a lot less impressed with the power right runs. If the giants lose pierce or gibril i could see major problems as well (butler, wilon, johnson are it really). The reason our beloved team went down was not the number of injuries it was who got injured (or that everyone at one position got injured). Losing a LT is devastating for this team (and most others), losing pierce is huge (Blackburn is good but he is no coach pierce), losing a guy like snee or mackenzie would also be huge since snee is playing at a pro bowl level and mackenzie's backup is Whimper? The giants are not impervious to injuries.
